I checked. Not so.
Um...no. They are only publishing what people have provided.
No one’s phone number is posted that don’t want it posted. This is hystrionics.
Hey! Let's start one right here!
The stain is going to announce that he's quitting after one term because the entire country is too stupid to understand his genius!! Until then, he's going to play all the golf he can!
I know! I saw the text of the teleprompter speech myself!
OK...now spread it around!
It seems to only sync the ones I have in my outlook contact list. I wonder if it is just displaying info on your computer, not necessarily public? (unless it is just coincidence the ones I see are people in my Outlook contacts and the ones not happen to have their privacy settings beefed up).
Look again. If you are using a FB mobile application on your mobile phone it is actually uploading the directory contents (phone numbers) of your phone into a location called CONTACTS. Checked it this morning and apparently this has been going on for a while as there were numbers in there from previous cell phones that I actually lost.
These are NOT visible to your other friends ... just you.
“Dear Facebook
Cancel my account.” Problem solved.
They are just convinced all of your information is theirs to publish as they wish. They seem to continually change the rules so you have to constantly “opt out” of their latest and greatest ideas to make your info public even after you said NO. Tried ‘em, canceled them within 6 mos.
Waste of time.
Perhaps, but I think you should have to purposely go to someone's profile and actually look for their phone number (provided they posted it).
I checked my 'friends' list, and nearly every one had a phone number listed. I just find that sort of cross-referencing unsettling.
Why in the world would anyone put phone numbers in their profile, yet expect that information not to be public? If you don’t want your contact information public, don’t put phone numbers in your profile.
Do you have a Facebook account? Did you follow the prompts and check to see if this is true for yourself?
I did, and it's true.

You are over reacting.
Facebook like FR is a private organization. They can do whatever the he’ll they want.
Thanks, that confirms my guess in 6.
because the entire country is too stupid to understand his genius!!
Well, not everyone. Pelosi thinks he is brilliant. Oh, and I heard CA went red and canned Pelosi this AM. (Wow, wouldn’t that be some rumor).
It seems logical that they are moving to the integration with Skype.
I don't use Outlook, and only access the internet via a desktop computer. When I followed the prompts, I saw phone numbers displayed for every 'friend' on my list.
Yes, these people had to have input those numbers into their Facebook profiles for them to show up like that, but I'm just wondering if most people understand that that information is accessible like this.
Perhaps some folks will see this alert and choose to not share their phone numbers this way.
My friends don’t post their phone numbers. Apparantly yours did.
