It is my experience that people with this type of attitude will be the first to turn on you, because they have an over whelming need to be right and when someone proves them wrong they tend to they need to punish those who were right.
I want to thank you for posting this. I have been stocking up on vinegar for its cleaning/disinfecting properties, which are impressive, but nothing beats chlorine bleach for absolute destruction of pathogens. Just last week I was thinking it would be nice to be able to make chlorine bleach but didn’t think it possible. I’ve never had a use for the raw chlorine chemicals so this didn’t occur to me.
This is real life. You get one, use it well.
If prepping is a hobby for you fine. But one thing it isn’t is real, that is EXTREME prepping. This kind of stuff — making chlorine at home — isn’t a survival skill.
Nor is learning how to make oil lamps. Making oil lamps is nice as a way of understanding history. Making chlorine maybe helpful as a way to learn some chemistry.
But it’s not survival.
Real survival is a community affair.
Our founders understood that. “A well-regulated militia” didn’t mean an individual with a gun and ammo, it meant a men able to work as an organized unit. A community at arms.
Sewers, water, medical care — these are community actions. A community must be able to do them.
