AKRON, Ohio -- Adam Scott hit all the right shots Sunday in a round that was close to flawless and earned him his first World Golf Championship title.
He celebrated with a caddie who has won quite a few more.
Steve Williams, fired last month by Tiger Woods after a 12-year partnership, felt like a bigger winner when Scott rolled in one last birdie for a 5-under 65 and a four-shot victory in the Bridgestone Invitational.

Steve Williams took a jab at Woods in an interview off the 18th green by saying that of his 145 wins in his 33 years as a caddie, this WGC title with the affable Australian made it the "the greatest week of my caddying in my life." That's quite a statement, and it doesn't say much for Tiger Woods...

What’s the name of that course, I can’t remember it but I played it two or three years in a row. The last time was in early June and the heat liked to killed us. LOL!

A talented caddie is extremely helpful to professional players. He advises on club selection based on terrain, wind, humidity etc. He also knows how to read minute variation on greens. Even more important, he keeps the player relaxed and focused.
Adam Scott started winning again after changing to a long putter. My own scores have dropped since switching to a long putter.

a caddie helped him win? Baloney

I don’t know that he still is. If he is he’s dumber that I thought because of the heat he’s taken for it. He’s been nursing injuries for the last few weeks and this last Wednesday he said after playing nine holes he felt great and believed he could win this, guess he’s going to feel a lot greater before he wins his next one.

Was it Bermuda Dunes you’re talking about, it seems that was the course the Hope Classic was played at?

Nope. I don't dislike Tiger but he's done as a high profile champion. He may yet win again but the old Tiger is gone forever. Deal with it; his head is screwed, and golf is 90% mental.

Nick Faldo won with his girlfriend caddying for him. I think a good golf coach can really help a player improve, but most caddies are simply guys who wanted to play but cant, so they carry the water for the real players. Also, not a bad gig for those who hook up with a big money maker.

Silver Rock...it's the city's albatross; built during the "boom" with all sorts of grand and glorious plans for hotels, malls, boutiques,etc................now it sits pretty damned empty, even during our "season" with what was supposed to be a course extension rented out to sod farmers.
http://www.silverrock.org/
The website is total BS...it's a money pit, and nothing more.

Yes, a designer should know, or at least anticipate, that.
Something other than Arnie not knowing that went on here. Has Arnie ever commented on this? What is the name of the municipal course?

Tiger is basically done. He is going to have to totally remake his golf swing. It was inevitable anyway. I have never seen anybody hit the ball of such a stiff left side. All the force he generated with his swing had to go somewhere. It went to his left knee. The knee just isn't designed to take that type abuse.
Now comes the mental part. When he gets in a tight, he will revert back to what he has always know. Swing hard as hell against a locked left knee. Rrrrrip. Again.

Williams interview after the round was longer than Adam Scotts. Stevie also seemed to take credit for the win, as if he was the one hitting the shots. Probably just his way of saying, "Up yours, Tiger!".

Thanks, EB. No, I never played Silver Rock, it was Bermuda Dunes and that was one of the Bob Hope Classic courses but that was many years ago. :)
Silver Rock looks like a beautiful course on their website but like you say, the website doesn’t make the course.

He made millions for 12 years off of Tiger for doing what? Same thing as bellmen at hotels make $20 per hour doing. A lot you know. These guys aren't like 16 year-olds at a local club.
