How many of you think eating live clams is strange?

I’d eat live squid. Sounds good.

US Spec Ops and SAS were already trained to eat live worms and insects like grasshoppers so it’s nothing new. Like the rest of the squirmies, I prefer my meat top stay dead and BBQ’d.

Clams and oysters are eaten raw in their entirety right when you open them up, this thing is lingering. Raw squid or octopus might be ok, but not biting a piece off while it is alive. I’m not somebody to complain about fresh or raw meat dishes, just not a fan of the animal lingering

It's very difficult to spot the difference between a recently deceased clam and a live one. Even at their most vivacious moments, they're pretty sedentary. So it's easy to forget that the clam you're about to eat is alive.

A dancing octopus on the plate is a whole nuther thing, however.
