A golden retriever was definitely its owner's best friend early Tuesday morning when it scared off a man who was sexually assaulting its owner, Madison police reported.

"The dog knew its owner was in trouble and came growling, barking and gnashing its teeth," DeSpain said. "The attacker fled."

Doggie ping!
Better than cops too.
Good doggie!!
Good doggie!
Golden retrievers are loving and gentle, but can get the job done when needed.
Good dog!!!
Who walks their dog in a dog park at 1AM? On the other hand, good dog!
The dog has insomnia...
Massive fail. The perp lived. His remains should be in that dogs food bowl right now.
Seriously though, good pup. He deserves a good steak dinner for that one.
I’ve always said that if my dogs protect my daughter from something like that, they’ll live on NY strip steaks and such for the rest of their lives.
I had a cat that attacked a man that opened my door and walked in. He knocked, I opened the door and he opened the screen and came in. He said he was a salesman but his hands were empty. My cat stepped off the bookcase onto the guys shoulders and “breathed” in his ear. He turned to look and Titus’ mouth was open and his tongue was pulsing. He said “Lady get your cat off of me”. I told him to back out the door. He did and Titus jumped back inside. The guy disappeared in a hurry.
Yes, I love the way cats "breathe." Was it a good, healthy hiss? :)
That's an awesome story.
Good Titus :-).
I don’t know if it is true, but there was a story circulating a few years back about a German Shepard owned by a single woman. She came home from work and found her dog choking. She cleared his throat and found part of a finger lodged in it. She immediately left with the dog. The police found the perp hiding in the bedroom closet with a missing finger.
With a cat like that, you really are a “MacWoW!”
He was an extraordinary cat. Some friends came to visit after the baby was born and they opened the front door and stuck their head in. Luckily Jeff saw Titus leap and pulled his head back in time. If the hall had been shorter.......
Titus Quintus Aeschylus. I still miss that cat. It’s been 26 years.
LOL!!! He was an exceptional kitty.
I suspect that there is a new Constitutionalist in Madison.
