Was the cop out of bullets?
Seems that if the cops are not shooting your dog they’re killing their own. What sort of imbecile would leave a dog out in heat like that?
Waiting to hear the animal abuse charges..........waiting..........waiting...................
Ya gotta remember, he is a "trained observer" and has to make split-second decisions! If that wasn't stated in his training, he's off the hook.
A small town near here paid $10,000 for a “drug dog” (as if they really needed one). Naturally, some idiot left it in a cop car on a hot day and it died. I read these stories all the time. And cops wonder why people don’t “respect” them.

I’ve only had limited experience with cops with dogs (drug dogs). 2 who used to bring their dogs to my class to talk to my students and show the kids. Both were very nice, and had a great rapport with their dogs and the dogs were quite impressive. If memory serves the dogs were house dogs.
I don’t know what happened in this case (this article seems very one sided, the writer already has decided that the handler left the dog with no shade etc—and may be right, but the tone clearly makes me think it wouldn’t matter, this is an agenda driven person). There may be a slim possibility that the dog had some health issue (I say slim because I am sure these dogs are thoroughly checked out altho I have heard on occasion of them being purchased and then having health problems, so it does happen).
I am quite surprised the dog was left outside. These dogs are expensive and valuable. However, I do wonder what the kennel standards are (surely there are kennel standards for police k9s?). The writer seems horrified about a *slab*. It may well be that the requirements are concrete. It’s easy to keep clean. These days the humaniacs have demanded and gotten laws governing standards for keeping most dogs, including hobby breeders in some places. It wouldn’t surprise me if police k9s also fall under some such law (but this is a guess). At any rate, I am NOT defending this case, I am simply adding a few questions and comments. I would like a little more information, perhaps a photo of where the dog was kept, and I would like to know if these dogs are never kept in the house.
Epic FAILURE as a human! Back to the end of the evolutionary line for you. Start over.
