It’s not a no-no since they scored a run.

Was going to watch the reply (still will), but made the mistake of checking out the Rangers' website and there it was - a headline "Santana Throws a No-Hitter".

Seems like only yesterday he couldn't do anything right at away games.

Well done, Ervin!

On the flip side, a pitcher for Cleveland’s AAA team threw a perfect game last night.

It’s not a no-no since they scored a run.

Of course it is. You can score a run without getting a base hit. Just one example would be reaching on a leadoff error, stealing second, moving to third on a sacrifice bunt and scoring on a ground out.

A no-no means “no hits, no runs”. Hence two “no’s”. Santana threw a no-hitter. He did not throw a no-no.

A “no-no” is just a slang way of saying “no-hitter.” It doesn't necessarily mean no hits and no runs.

It is true that it wasn't a perfect game, because there were walks, errors and runs.

Actually “no-no” means no hits AND no runs. See Glossary of Baseball: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_baseball_(N)

Nobody said anything about a perfect game, which means no one reached base (27 up and 27 down in a 9 inning game.)
