Thank You House Speaker John Boehner

Thank you House Speaker John Boehner. While I am not positive that I will agree with your final proposal as is, I do want to say sincerely how much I respect you on this day and the nerve and, frankly, manhood you showed today in the face of President Obama and his failed agenda for our nation. While I am more conservative than positions you may take, today I really want to thank you for your statesmanship, stalwart maturity in the face of left-wing psychosis.

There is no doubt others will poke fun or belittle, which is perfectly fine. But in case you happen to have the time to read this forum or visit this site between battles, or be communicated regarding any feelings expressed by good people on this forum, and no doubt read or hear of some of the put-downs against you which is only the nature of honest Americans who are expressing their feelings and serious concerns, today I want you to know that at least for myself, I will remember you for what you said today in response to the President, and for your courage you have shown so far.

Thank you again, and keep up the good work.

...you just providing fodder for the bed wetters on this list.

If didn't know better, I'd think you were Boehner. After all, the first thing he told the Tea Party freshmen when they hit the Hill was that if they wouldn't help him raise the debt ceiling they were a bunch of babies.

Even though they had just been elected on the strength of promises to stop this nonsense.

They hate any Republican more than Obama.

Hate? Nah. Anger at all of them? Yeah.

Every single vote to contract debt that our generation cannot possibly pay is a vote for the enslavement of our grandchildren. It is the stripping of our posterity’s God-given right to self-government by consent. A yes vote to raise the debt ceiling is an unmistakable signal to already-overburdened Americans that all the campaign rhetoric about fiscal restraint was merely empty talk.

If they were in any way serious they would instead move quickly to cut spending, beginning with the vast number of programs and agencies that are not among the Enumerated Powers contained in our Constitution, which they swore to faithfully support and defend. They would keep their word and fulfill the ultimate stated purpose of that precious document by securing the Blessings of Liberty to Posterity.

I was quite proud of Boehner tonight as well. His eyes were clear and bright. The whites were white. His speech was courageous and quite a contrast to the speech given by the pathological liar in the WH.

Fundamentally, nobody can negotiate with a sociopath.

IMHO, the focus must now become on how to legitimately impeach and remove Obama from power.

Amen Brother. I find all this Beohner adulation tonight, especially after he has consistently let us down since being installed leader, a little too much to take. He has no track record for doing the right thing and it wasn’t until the Tea Party phone calls hit DC and Rush, Hannity and Levin opened up on him for his compromising with the WH did he wise up.

Thanks. I’m glad I’m not the only who is disgusted by this charade.

This isn’t the only thread with this strange jubilation about Boner. I have been on this one too that has me confused.

Maybe I didn’t get my proper indoctrination from the RNC elite this morning.

They’re all just playing a game for public consumption and expect us to fall for it while they try to delay the inevetable collapse. IMO

That’s pretty much it. S&P and Moody’s will downgrade our rating regardless. It’s the out of control spending that’s the root of this coming collapes. This plan does NOTHING credible to solve it.

Another Blue-Ribbon panel? Give me a break.

raising the debt ceiling == spending more of other peoples money

as one of the people that would traditionally pay far above my fair share for these a**hats to have luxury retirement packages... i say no more

in case they didn’t get the feeling expressed above, let me state it more plainly.

HELL NO, I WON’T PAY FOR YOUR BULLSH*T ANY LONGER

You can bet those days are over....

Recently, the FDIC changed it's insurance levels effective 01/2014 from $250,000 to $100,000 - it's on their website.

Second, on a 3-2 vote cast on 01/27/2011, the SEC enacted rules to allow US financial institutions to freeze all money market accounts in the event of a 'crisis'. Crisis was never defined in the rule change, however, 'hardship' cases was ruled to be inclusive. IOW, even in the event of starvation, cold, rent, etc., banks could refuse depositors ability to withdraw their money for any reason(s).

Third, the 10 largest US banks own 77% of all the banking assets, not to mention the sheer number of bank failures (>350) the last 3 years.

Something catastrophic is on the near horizon.

I am hoping this does get kicked down the road to the 2012 election because the People should have the final say I whether we continue on the road to total Marxism ,the Democrat position,or still believe in America as it should be. Republicans this is how the 2012 election should be Framed ,could it be any more Obvious? If you want the America you Remember, where you Make the decisions for your Family and Live the way you want to, or the Fundementally transformed America where we Change our traditions and our History then Vote DeMocrat.

Thanks for the link.

It all sounds nice.

As usual though, I am pessimistic, and will “wait and see” if the Republicans keep pressure on or go back to “business as usual”.

How is he showing leadership? I am so confused. He is allowing this inept president to SPEND more money that we don’t have. I guess everyone’s just happy that Boehner has not burst into tears. Leadership would be saying NO to the debt limit hikes! THAT would be leadership. Cutting pennies over YEARS and allowing trillions more to be spent over those year is NOT LEADERSHIP!
This is serious business and they are all acting for the cameras to shut us up and let them continue spending! It’s complete madness!

Barry Soetoro aka Barak Hussein Obama II , Dingy Harry Reid ,who Searchlight Nev. doesn’t even want— and Speaker John Boehner walk into a press conference— Two of them are telling LIES and blaming the Republicans. Only speaker Boehner speaks like an adult and Patriot— and a man who represents me and my children and my grandchildren.I thought Barry was a big boy capable of earning respect when /if respect is due— and fully capable of proving himself to be an EMBARRASSMENT.When we had Moral and Religious men as leaders the gay rights movement was where it belongs in San Francisco public restrooms .And our economy was not in ruins because the Socialists and the Communists— and the Queers did not control Congress.

That's how we thought the 2010 elections were framed. Apparently our weak, effete, Republican elite didn't see it that way.

I don’t know how wild I am about Boehner’s new plan but at least he sounded statesman like and for once managed not to sniff in his hanky. Somebody has taped a fudgesicle stick to his spine and he’s starting to get tough.

Well... it is now Thursday night and I am retracting. Boner looks absolutely pathetic as he caves to far more intelligent Democrats. We are soooooo friggin screwed in this country.
