2 minutes ago I posted in support of cops.

Based on all the info in the source, these cops should be ashamed and, as a pet owner and lover, I would want their heads on a pike.

Cops need to be accountable when they freak out (see the recent cop who threatened the life of a legal CCW holder).

Agreed. Officer Chester needs to be removed from the force.

Once again, as in TOO MANY CASES, the Blue Wall of Silence closes around the truth.

In a effort to control incidents like this we need:

1) A residency requirement. If a jurisdiction isn’t suitable for some cop to make his home, then its not suitable for him to work there either.

2) Civilian review boards. Cops who shoot should need to explain themselves, but not before a judge, as the burden of proof is too much weighted in the cops favor. After all, just like a judge or attorney, a cop is an officer of the court. They should have to explain themselves to a “jury” of their employers, i.e. citizens of the jurisdiction in which they work. And if that jury doesn’t buy their story, as it would be unlikely to do here, he or she can look for a job elsewhere.

This family will be traumatized forever by the actions of this rogue cop, his arrogant colleagues, and the complicity of the court which covered for him.
