I watched a documentary that was filmed inside NK and “under cover”. It was fascinating. Everything was staged but it was SOOOO obvious.
Like they’d be the ONLY ones in the bar and they acted like it was a random stop (their guide) yet the table was set for exactly the right number of them. The hotel was empty but they served food as if they were throwing a huge party, but they couldn’t eat that food—they were served same cheap stuff. And as they left the good food was collected and taken back to the kitchen area for storage.

For NK to get a reputation for “beautiful women” in the SK press just shows how gullible people can be. Those people were all hand picked for those roles. Those are not real waitresses and stuff, they are party loyalists.
It must be The Vice Guide to North Korea you are alluding to. That is the best documentary I have ever seen about N.K. and it was done by some amateur Canadians.
