They will promote "science" to advertise your new movie, if you ask politely.
They will pretend that Global Warming is real, if you give them grants.

At first, they were just starved for attention...but the real killer is probably hubris. At some point they will probably demand obeisance.

Yup. I have no doubt that some “scientists” are now being used to promote movies. Its a new low. I saw the trailer for the movie and, while interesting, its ridiculous to think the premise is anything but SciFi. That being said, it is in the realm of possibility for someone to bioengineer a deadly virus, but that’s been “done” many times in terms of books & movies.
