I think it’s a legitimate concern, because there are bioengineers who want to do things without any concern for the consequences of their actions.
Western ethics and personal morals which governed these extremes within professional men and women, have been cleansed from our culture.
Situational ethics would say that if the creation of human hybrids advances a group’s science and/or profit motives, it is good. The consequences on the society around them is of no concern to them.
The same thing happened to the bankster industry.
