The Sarah Palin documentary is getting hammered on IMDB by progressive trolls spewing hate and voting without ever seeing the film. If you want to see Palin Derangement syndrome at its finest look here Rotten Tomatoes is just as bad but IMDB is more popular. IMDB is also owned and run by Amazon if you want to complain about it.
I have not yet seen the documentary; therefore, I cannot comment.
I have been putting in my zip code almost everyday to try to get it out here on Long Island.
I have quite a few people in mind to try to convince to come see it once it is shown here.
I suspect on the same path she was early in the Govern-ship of Alaska........high approval ratings.
I should mention that based on my observations, a "9" vote will move the average up more than a "10" vote.It appears that you are correct! This is because of the algorithm imdb uses to figure its "weighted average."
It is supposed to discourage just what the libs are now doing -- stuffing the ballot box with "1's."
If I am right, then once a substantial number of votes are tallied, the "1's" and the "10's" will be weighted less -- and a "9" will carry more weight.
From www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?ratingsexplanation:
Weighted Average RatingsIMDb publishes weighted vote averages rather than raw data averages.
Various filters are applied to the raw data in order to eliminate and reduce attempts at 'vote stuffing' by individuals more interested in changing the current rating of a movie than giving their true opinion of it.
The exact methods we use will not be disclosed. This should ensure that the policy remains effective. The result is a more accurate vote average.
Over at Metacritic.com there are links to some reviews that are not awful.
The Cardiff Internet Movie Database (now IMDB) was great in the old days, when it was basically a script front-end to files to hook them up to the web (this being an improvement over the old USENET lists).
Many of us early contributors weren’t too happy to find out that our work was being sold to Amazon without even telling us.
This was one of Axelrod's specialties during the 2007 and 2008 campaign.
What is the basis for your projection??? Recall....in AL, she'd had none of the "national bashing" she's absorbed since 2008 (except for the incredible bashing that was a principle cause of her leaving office before the term completed), and now, there are a very very large group of voters who - regardless of what Mrs. Palin would do or accomplish during her first two years...are completely, totally, unchangeably, and unalterably opposed to her - in the most visceral sense.
A Governor that reaches 93% approval and consistently polled in the 80s, is a unifier, not a polarizer.
I remember Reagan being in the same situation, the media had the public very suspicious of him and it saw Reagan as a radical, dangerous right winger, but he managed to campaign past that, win office, and become immensely popular.

Thanks for that background. Had no idea about imdb`s beginnings. Am a huge movie junkie and I use imdb for checking credits of writers, directors, composers etc. but it`s a pathetic place when it comes to serious discussion of film for the most part. Way too oriented toward the People and blockbuster movie kids. [Have Murnau`s Faust on right now to give you an idea of where I`m coming from. :]
i registered and rated. It took a minute. Come on lazy freepers!
Back then it was for real movie buffs, and all contributions were vetted by editors, who were formerly people who maintained various related lists. We’re talking some thousands of contributors, not millions. Quality was high.
Now every idiot contributes information, comments and ratings, and the quality has likewise suffered.
Any SoCal FReepers going to "The Undefeated" [Sarah Palin movie] and "after party" in ONTARIO?
