The system worked. If the stupid state hadn't gone for her head (trying to get the vote of all of the knuckle draggers here and elsewhere) and had aimed their sites more reasonably, justice would have been served with someone in jail for the crime.
As it stands now, justice was served by setting the woman free.
Nope, justice was not served. She killed her kid and got off scott free. The Justice System worked. The Justice System doesn’t want justice. It wants a process. It wants a semblance of justice, but not true justice.
She murdered her child and got away with it. She beat the system. But justice was NOT served. Not even close.
