I drove over 230 miles to see it. Well worth it. I know most of the material, but seeing it set out as a story really helped me understand how consistent she has been from the beginning, and it gave new life to her convention speech, and the Wisconsin speech. The warrior talk, the mama grizzly talk, it’s not focus-group political image-making at all. It’s just who she is, believe it or not. And that is why nothing less will do.
Similar for me. I thought some of the gubernatorial accomplishments needed to be explained in simpler terms, to reach more people. But after they got into the VP run and beyond, there was definitely acceleration.
I also think it would be nice to see a real movie made that captures all this in a more Frank Capra-esque form. It really is an amazing story, and deserves to be told as greate stories are told, though for now we must all wait patiently for the pages of the future to turn and in due course reveal the ending.
That is the authenticity which led to the indomitable personality that we see, it seems that there has never been a time in her life, from childhood through the highest reaches of politics, that Sarah Palin was ever anything but exactly who she is.
Sarah Palin is like Reagan, in that the more we put her life under a microscope, the more we dig under the surface biography and image, instead of finding the 'inevitable' flaws, the human flaws, and the dark secrets, the more we realize that she is even better than we knew.
I found Breitbart’s passion when he was speaking about Palin having to do all the heavy lifting for the “men” in the Republican party very attractive!

It’s very good result, but you really temper the enthusiasm with a little bit of perspective. It was the second most popular movie in terms of dollars per screen. It’s most certainly a huge boost. A good organizational tool, a lot of good things. But I’m not sure we should be saying this is at the level of a Hollywood blockbuster yet. That said, people are not lining up to watch the Mitt Romney story.

Yes ... and he’s right, too. At least at the national level, it’s hard to find Republican men who don’t act as if it’s simply intolerable that those tiresome voter-people want to break up their comfortable little racket.
This is great news considering a film that is playing in a select few markets came in number two during the summer box-office that is just Amazing!!!! Go Sarah!!!
WOOHOO! We are going to see it today hopefully. Just looked up the showtimes. It’s a bit of a drive, but will be well worth it. I will report back after we see it.

Trying to judge this kind of film by mass market standards is sort of a waste of energy. Getting a sense of how narrow or broad the market is will be the more useful measure. A comfortable run in the later weeks that matches those of similar products would be an excellent outcome. Being second to Harry Potter really isn't in the cards long range, and shouldn't be the success/failure criteria.
Competitive in its genre is the measure.
