You gotta’ see it for yourself. This is the one where they do surgery then you get to look straight down for two weeks while an airbubble they’ve pumped into your eye gets absorbed. The retina doesn’t like to look at stuff through air ~ it wants water. So as the water fills up in your eye you get your vision back. In the meantime you see ronga ronga writing!

An air bubble is needed for a repair of a macular hole or retinal detachment/tears in certain locations.
Patients are instructed to keep their heads in a specific position after surgery so the bubble can push against the area which was repaired.
