For unknown reasons, the judge in the civil lawsuit against Casey Anthony recused himself from the case on Friday.
Judge Jose Rodriguez made the announcement shortly after the 8 a.m. hearing began, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.
Zenaida Gonzalez, who shares the same name as a fictitious babysitter whom Casey Anthony claimed kidnapped her daughter Caylee in 2008, is suing Anthony for defamation.
The move came after Anthony's attorney called for a sidebar, where attorneys from both sides talked with the judge for about 15 minutes.
Gonzalez's attorney, John Morgan, said he did not request the recusal, WKMG reports.
Morgan was expected to argue Friday that Anthony should be deposed before she is released from jail Sunday. He filed the motion Wednesday requiring Anthony attend a deposition either on July 19 or before Sunday's scheduled release from the Orange County Jail.
Morgan is concerned that Anthony will not show up for a scheduled deposition next Tuesday and he wants a judge to force her to appear, reports the station.
A timetable for a decision is not known.

Let me say this reaaaaaallllll sloooooowww....she lied on video tape.......it’s PROVEN beyond a doubt....even the last jury didn’t try to acquit her on that. Do you really believe a JUDGE will reverse this? I don’t. This is a stall tactic to get out of the deposition.
I thought it would be a reality show...I think she would jump at it. Imagine...they could call it Casey Uncensored. I do believe it would do well. Scary, huh?
Something very SICK about that, considering how Casey told her lawyer about sexual abuse by George.

Since Casey is a convicted liar, I would want some corroboration on that. Casey and her Dad seemed to get along pretty well....and, also, according to the defense he has affairs with adult women...which is it? Girls or women? I have serious doubts to that whole line of bull.
Yep and she can take the 5th in any deposition and/or answer the question and I don’t think it can be held against her in a court 5th or answer. She does want to stall the deposition; however.

You can’t believe anything Casey says.
If she does take the 5th; there can be a motion filed with the court who can compel her to answer.
Well, by the time they get around to depositions, Casey will be the new Lindsay Lohan.

Her parents look so beat down in those videos. Heck I feel beat down listening to Casey. She sounds like a Philadelphia lawyer.
