I was getting scared, all my life finding work was just a matter of pounding the pavement for a day or two. I’m almost 69, never drew unemployment once, although I had to take some less than choice jobs for a while. Sometimes I even had 2 of them at once, LOL, but they were there to be found!

DITTO! How times have changed! Reminds me of myself - moving to CA from NY State in 1957, not knowing a soul there and finding a job on my first day out at “Douglas Aircraft” in Santa Monica. That should tell you how “old” I am... After that I moved to Sacramento and walked from business to business in the downtown area and was hired at Bank of America immediately. From there it was a matter of changing jobs when OFFERED other jobs due to contacts at the bank. Never a problem finding work.
Yes, things have changed dramatically - especially since the bozo took office!!! Here we find ourselves - AGAIN - talking about how bad things are just like we did in the ‘70’s during the Carter years.
All I can say is I pity our kids and grandkids living in a country he has managed to “transform” to his liking!
I know the feeling. Hubby has been back to work 2 weeks now. Years of instrument experience and he fought for a job driving a dump truck. As a 60 yr old with a pace maker he feels great to have even gotten this job. My goal is to pay off all existing bills (not so much really) and stockpile as much as I can and hang on.
It can happen, even in this economy. Glad it happened for you and yours!
