If you think about it, and I don’t know it that struck Mr. Lopez at the time, coming as it did a couple of days after a Texas Rangers fan fell to his death trying to catch a ball for his son, a ball tossed up to him by a Rangers outfielder doing nothing more than a nice thing, Mr. Lopez’s gesture was a kind of much-needed tonic for the game.
