Adultery is a LITTLE different than rape, horrible torture and MURDER of a child.
Some, but in the era of AIDS, it can mean that someone is going to die all the same.
And back when the Bible was written, there were no cures for STDs - many of which were fatal back then as well. Adultery didn’t become something with few physical consequences until the invention of birth control and the advent of antibiotics.
