Today is the day she may walk free. Prepare yourselves.
Call me Pollyanna, but the Judge did give FingerBoy 6 days. Hopefully he has scoured the law so she can cool her heels a little longer.
Does cause one to think. Sometimes when the world is focused in a particuliar direction...God shows His approval or disapproval because attention to Him can clearly be seen...and understood within that window of time. I have often thought of that verse..."When Justice IS done The People rejoice"... But since the verdict came in.....'nobody's rejoicing' except the Attorneys, certainly not the people.

I think the cartoon is aimed at “The Media” and is not meant too literally.
BTW, did you hear that they changed the release date again. Now it is the Sunday after next Wednesday! Geeesh! They can’t even get that right.
“”I still say those who believe in the swimming pool theory should start a thread and see if they can make it fit. Prove it was the swimming accident. “”
Good morning... Good idea. Caylee’s remains were found with every day clothing around them - not a bathing suit. On the other hand, Cindy said a pair of shorts was found at the scene that Caylee didn’t normally wear; they were too small for her. Could Caylee have been up before anyone else that morning, dressed herself and gone outside to the pool? Again - we only got that from Cindy...a questionable source if there ever was one.
I still can’t believe that was Caylee in the photo shown opening the sliding glass door to the backyard area! To me, it always looked like a much bigger child. Why did a photo of a child at that door prove that the child could open the door? Why would someone take a photo of a child at the door? I don’t believe there are any other pictures of Caylee doing anything other than posing for photos in costumes, and with her narcissistic mother. None with George and Cindy and yet, Casey was the photographer in the family?
There was certainly a low threshold of “proof” in that trial. After River Cruz took the stand, it was proof that George had lied in his testimony. Why wasn’t it proof that she had lied?
Onward and upward, folks.....
“”Justice has NOT been done. Our legal system does not mete out justice””
Darn! Until I ran across your post, I had completely forgotten seeing Allen Dershowitz on TV last week - whose show, I don’t recall - surfing around the 10 pm hour so it could have been CNN, FOX, HLN and I was trying to stay awake.
He said that the legal system is not about “truth or justice”. Whoever the host was (it could have been Piers Morgan), asked him what he meant and he had an answer and I should have written it down but I didn’t. I completely forgot it until just now but it jolted me from my drowsiness. I’ll google to see if there’s any mention of it anywhere.
Below are Alan Dershowitz’s remarks from last week... I didn’t get it exactly right but as well as I could remember it.. Interesting take.
The prosecutor made the dreadful mistake of charging [Anthony] with first degree murder, essentially asking for the death penalty. Dershowitz said that made the jury look very closely at the evidence for any conviction.
Well never know as a result of this what happened, Dershowitz concludes, because a criminal trial is not a search for truth. Its not a whodunit. In television there is always an outcome, we always know who did it. But in real life we often dont know what happened.
Never at all was there any thought or spoken of that it was an "accident." So, you've got to ask yourself, just like Jeff Ashton, the lead prosecutor asked, "who makes an accident look like a murder?"
The above was reported in “Here & Now with Robin Young” - whoever that is and I think it differs from what I heard him say on TV...he had a much lengthier reply.
And on and on it will go.
One thing I read this morning that cheered me up- Jose Baez has now been dropped by the PR firm that had agreed to represent him. It seems they took a good look at the lay of the land and decided this guy wasn’t worth the price they’d pay.
Thanks, MJ. I wasn’t following closely but knew that I had never heard that word mentioned until the trial.
And that would be proof of what, exactly?
I am almost afraid to ask.
You have taken a lot of slings and arrows on this thread, but you make more sense than a lot of the Colombos here.
Bravo.
Wow- I hadn’t heard the interview Juror #3 had done with George Stephanopolous on ABC- she says several extraordinary things- one of which being -the death penalty.
I don’t know how- but it seems at least from what we’re learning in this case that jury instructions may need some refining.
Thank you for posting that. Glad to hear it.
Whoa, a sign of times to come. I bet the jurors are going to find themselves in the same boat. People are tired of people making lots of money off of lies.
I think jury consultants may also pose a problem. IIRC, the defense made use of them, and the prosecution did not. And the jury consultant/s excelled at picking people who were easy intellectual pickings. I’m beginning to think that professional juries may be a good idea.
Maybe they’re playing smart. Keeping upping the date until infinity. I can always hope!
Personally, I think the Judge and especially Ms. Drane-Burdock did a fantastic job. They just got stuck with 12 dumb jurors.
