BRADENTON - The self-employed operator of a home day care center in Sarasota is accused of placing a Craigslist ad in which she claimed to be her husband's ex-wife soliciting sex with strangers.
The falsified ad led the victim to receive numerous phone calls, text messages and home visits from male strangers, frightening her and making her concerned about her children's safety, according to a police report.

it could be worse. One guy put in an add on Craigslist, on behalf a woman, saying that her fantasy was to exerience a violent rape.

Seems Florida has an excess of nut jobs. or, they just make it into the news more often.
Looks like malicious pranks like this are a new problem for Craigslist. There was recently a story where somebody placed an ad saying that all the things in somebody’s yard, like a boat, were free for the taking.
That would probably be a good move by the husband. Sounds like new wife is evil and/or crazy.
Your first thought is correct.
