Please do not blame Orlando for the Casey Anthony verdict. Had locals been given a choice, she would convicted overwhelmingly! But we did not get to supply the jurors. They were from Pinellas County, 100 miles and 100 years west of Central Florida. Pinellas County is mostly low class retirees in St. Petersburg, knuckle-dragging cretins in Pinellas Park and the denizens of Scientology World Headquarters in Clearwater. The average IQ in Highpoint and Safety Harbor is less than the air temperature on ays when we wory about the citrus crop freezing.
I grew up there, escaped, and recognize there are a few intelligent people there such as Pinellas County FReepers, (but not former governor Charlie Crist from St. Pete. BTW, Crist, the Gay Blade, has now joined the biggest ambulance chasing firm in the State, and his show wife hasnt been seen with him in years.)
So please, when you think about the all-but-convicted murderess going free here, dont blame us. BTW, I know Judge Perry well, and he is a VERY good guy. Dont blame him or us for the jurys idiocy.
Does this really need it’s own thread?
FLA, Orlando... sometimes res ipsa loquater...
Actually the moral to this story is if you get a jury summons GO TO JURY DUTY!! Why, because they interviewed a woman outside the courthouse who got a jury summons to most likely appear for this jury but did not go..she wiggled her way out of it..she said she would have convicted Casey had she been on that jury..so bottom line is, if people want to see justice served, don’t rely on idiots who end up on juries, go on the jury yourself and make a difference
Since when did God die and make you arbitor of all things FR?
I really don’t think anyone’s blaming entire cities or states for this.
Have Orlando pick a jury for this one...

Well said
Do you want Orlando held culpable for what would have been a BAD verdict otherwise? The actual Jury did a great job. They ignored the MOB.
I am sick of mobs and mob-frenzy “justice”!
It’s true. My mom always said that half the cases in the US were decided by leftists because conservatives ran businesses or had essential jobs. Meanwhile retirees, unemployeds, and people with union jobs were most able to sit jury duty.
However I DO know some intelligent people in Palm Harbor.
“Does this really need its own thread?”
Yes.
I can understand that Orlando wants cleared of this, and wants it known. A new thread works. We needed one.
But do you know all three of them?
Your DAs suck. Thy are just too use to kangaroo court action where no one messes with them...They were forced to work on this one..and got their butts waxed...
Florida the state that gave us Janet Reno, a DA dictator...
You have to look at it this way, who would actually enjoy being on a sequestered jury, be away from their families for months and have no contact with them? No one forced these jurors to show up and be part of this..they came to court knowing there was a chance they would be on this jury..you see your usual Government workers, the ones with criminal records and family members with criminal records, and the ones who didn’t pass the 11th grade..these are the jurors we are left with here..the ones who go YIPPEE I will get 5 bucks a day and a book deal. these are the ones you see ending up on high profile cases like this one
Disgusting. What you and she both are calling for is lynch mob justice. You'd demand that she hold to her lynch-mob prejudgment despite any argument, testimony or evidence she'd hear in the court.
Thank G-d she DID skip out of Jury duty and I repeat: HOORAY FOR THE ACTUAL JURY!
I asked a question. That's all.
However since you brought it up, a lot of people have a lot of comments and important points to make about big news like this. We usually take our turn and post in an existing discussion. If everyone were to start a new topic with their own specific point that they feel is more important than all the others, then this site would be really cluttered and really hard to navigate. Just sayin.
If what you say is true, then we need to credit the wise people of Pinellas County who are obviously much better citizens than the people of Orlando.
When I was a teenager, Palm Harbor was 378 residents, and Alternate US 19 didn’t get wide there, it got narrow!
