Thanks...Ok here's my take thus far....

clearly Cindy was as she said , “Distraught” as her writing evidences one in that condition can be when she wrote of Casey missing.... It also attests to the conflicting nature between both Cindy and Casey. ....But really not uncommon as some might think. Cindy mentioning loving and caring for Caley also evidences there was conflict of jealousy over Caley...also not uncommon with a dotting Grandmother and a lazy unattentive daughter toward her own child.

These family dynamics are “normal” in such circumstances where there are two strong willed woman. If you think about it, had Casey been working bringing in income many of these dynamics would not have been....and she would have eventually been on her own...maybe?

... But Casey was ‘willingly dependent’ on their generosity, home and provisions...which because she herself was unwilling to work to change the household dynamics, she redirected the ‘anger toward herself’ for not doing so.. to her mother. Who IMO was doing just what grandparents do do...they dote on grandchildren. Nothing new there.

....But Casey's basic way of handling anything she's dropped the ball on is to blame everybody else instead of doing the right things herself. Anything which takes doing the ‘hard work’ is beyond Casey to even consider. Her life is to be fun and parties....and let grandma babysit while she does so. And we know that can grow old when you're daughter's out partying all the time.....I do believe in Cindy's and Georges mind they were the parents...because in reality they were doing all the hard work for Caley.

Remember in the rebuttal's when Linda went on about the parents care of Caley....she even mentioned them as parents and that is when Casey's hair on her neck went up...shaking her head no...and she got angry.

Also Casey was jealous of her own daughter...remember the phone call from prison before Caley was found?...she cried out..”every things about finding Caley, Caley, Caley”...repeating her name three times, with the tone she used, was quite telling...if you note there was a pause before she finally said she wanted to find her too. Because Casey knew these conversations were recorded, so it was simply an afterthought to hide again her jealous streak toward her daughter....but it did reveal Casey's jealousy of her own daughter.

I know there is much said about how this family is dysfunctional. But I believe they weren't all that dysfunctional given how each had to ‘adapt’ around every whim of Caseys refusal to attend to herself and her daughters affairs...and her consistent demands. It all ‘became’ a total lock step codependent relationship among them all...for the parents in order to keep Caley in their life....for Casey to have her cake and it it too.

So....Once Caleys body was found...all bets were off the table, so to speak. This will sound morbid...but Casey doesn't care if the attention she is getting is favorable or not...as long as she has it.....and that includes this trial where she is indeed the center of attention.

This trial is sustaining her derranged self-obsorbtion in remarkable ways... as the center of attention she now again has...and this time she has the nations attention as well. She's a star in her own right...regardless of the outcome...meanwhile she continues to be well fed, cared for, and in a protected environment. Doing exactly as she did when in her home....eating, sleeping and reading. ..and thinking about herself.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. In fact, I think I've heard elsewhere that Casey was totally jealous of the attention Caylee got.

yep, very good analysis, caww!
