WEA Trust keeps money from districts that switched coverage [Another public union siphon exposed]

A health insurance company affiliated with the state's largest teachers union is refusing to release hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal money to school districts that recently dropped the company in favor of less expensive providers.

The federal money, which the nonprofit WEA Trust applied for on behalf of individual school districts, is intended to offset high-cost medical claims for early retirees ages 55 and older who are not yet eligible for Medicare. WEA Trust is affiliated with the Wisconsin Education Association Council.

School officials argue that WEA Trust applied for the federal money during the 2010-'11 fiscal year, which ended Thursday, so the money should be credited to the same year. WEA Trust officials contend the money should be carried forward as 2011-'12 insurance premium credits.

The layers of the onion just keep on peeling away, exposing Wisconsin's teacher union's affiliated organization (WEA) as thieves.

The Hartland-Lakeside district now stands to lose that money because the School Board voted Thursday to drop WEA Trust. But by switching to United HealthCare, the district still expects to save $690,000 in the new fiscal year, which started Friday, Schilling said.

“If WEA Trust is a nonprofit, why are they so expensive?” Schilling added.

Because they have union employees? They need the extra cash to shovel to the dems? I dunno, its in there somewhere.

Some of the districts that stayed with them did so after they offered to meet any better rate the district could get from another vendor, so I’m guessing those inflated rates weren’t tied to any fixed costs.

It’s all a big money laundromat.

The unions control “affilated” health care companies, dental companies, eyeglasses, and all manner of subsidiaries who handle union work for exhorbitant fees, a portion of which gets funneled back to the unions who then dole it out to Democrat party political interests....Those would be the Democrat party political interests who negotiated the generous union contract in the first place.

See how it works?

It seems to me, that the union sheep(teachers and local administators) are now going to get a glimpse of how they were all used by the unions. And how they’ll quickly realize how nice it is to have a little control over their own lives, as opposed to just marching in step with the union leadership. Who have shown they could care less about the teachers and kids, even more so, as long as their pockets were lined and they could cozy up to the politicians.

My personal gut feel guess:
That money was cycled back to the Democrats re-election efforts, months ago. There is no money remaining to return to the sick and retirees.

The union scam is becoming more evident each day now that Gov. Scott Walker has returned fiscal sanity to Wisconsin.

...back at all of you. In a mildly related issue, teachers are now getting “personal visits.” Read an excerpt below extracted from a friend’s forwarded email from the district he teaches in:

“Our fight is not over. Remember that you have a strong E.Plus.A. board who are working hard and long hours to protect your rights and work with the school board. We believe it is important to keep you informed and answer any questions we can, so some of our E.Plus.A team members, along with teachers and uni-serv members, will be visiting your homes this summer for some one on one conservations. We believe it is important to hear what you have to say.”

The main focus of the entire email is to get “members” to provide a void check so that the union can then do a direct withdrawal from their bank accounts for union dues... If you haven’t done so, you will get a “one on one” with some heavy. I would love to be feeding the questions to my friend during this conversation, but I expect he will do just fine without me, and share the story over a good cigar. (There are good teachers out their. They are just farther between.) More to come, I expect!
