That’s the kind of information you never read in the daily press. What did he do/not do?
We picked up the cost of 84 (or so, don't know how many exactly) musicians for rehearsals, and the concerts. Weeks before the event, he cancelled the second concert (thus, *all* the profits for the orchestra) and cancelled the recording. He immediately went to Seattle and recorded with them.
It was not because the orchestra was lacking in talent. This was a *fabulous* group of musicians, all professionals, who really kicked the music. (I've worked in the music business for 40 years, so I know what I'm talking about).
His intent was to use us as a free rehearsal band all along. Mr G and I warned the conductor all along the way, as we've seen this type of scam before, but the conductor was naive. The final result was the end of this fabulous group.
