I just sent an email to my favorite team encouraging them not to participate in this campaign, and appealing to their sense of respect for all their fans, including those on both sides of this divisive issue.

Baseball is supposed to be entertainment, not politics. Can’t there be anything that people on both sides of this issue enjoy together? Why must MLB enter this controversy? Would they take a stand on abortion? On Democrat vs. Republican? I, for one, will simply not support any sports franchise that doesn’t stay out of this battle. It’s not their place.

I suggest everyone write to their favorite sports franchises to make the same plea. Tell them to stay out of politics, or you will not spend your money on team merchandise, tickets, or even spend your time watching their games.

Good idea.

MLB seems like the most PC-whipped organization in pro sports.

I should add that it would be best to make clear what you think is divisive. If not, they'd just dismiss the complaint as being from some crackpot who's in favor of bullying.
