Do you have a theory?
“Do you have a theory?”
I do have a theory...
1) Casey probably did search for how to make it chloroform.
2) She made some and used it to get Caylee to sleep but she overdosed her and killed her. Either that or she put her to sleep with chloroform, went shopping and left Caylee in the car (which would get to about 120 degrees in a Florida June) where she died.
3) She knew she couldn’t report this because of the chloroform so she put the body in the trunk and drove around until she came up with the story about the nanny kidnapping her.
4) Meanwhile, the body continues to decompose in the Florida heat. A few days later, when she knew George and Cindy were at work, she drove home, backed into the garage, took the body and placed it down in the yard planning to bury her there, perhaps under the playhouse. She went to the neighbor and borrowed his shovel. She came back and quickly discovered she can’t move the playhouse and there’s no other place to dig that wouldn’t be obvious because the yard is kept in an emaculant state. She could have moved the pavers under the playhouse one by one, dug the grave, and put the pavers back. Either she thought she didn’t have time for that or that it was too much work (and Casey isn’t used to doing a lot of hard work). So she abandoned that idea and returned the shovel about one hour later.
5) The body was starting to ooze fluids from the mouth and nose and had oozed out onto the carpet in the trunk so she wiped up the fluid with the paper towel and put duct tape over the mouth and nose to contain the oozing. The heart shaped sticker on the duct tape means, “I’m sorry, Caylee, I didn’t mean to do this”. Then she put the body in the plasic bags and threw in the paper towel as well.
6) She couldn’t think of a better place so she put the body in the same “jungle” where it was eventually found.
7) Again, she couldn’t report the death because of the chloroform and she had her story about the nanny and so she had to pretend to her friends and mother that everything was OK and told Cindy these wild stories about going to Tampa and Jacksonville.
8) Eventually, of course, Cindy demanded to see Caylee, who tracked down Amy Huizenga who took her to Casey. That night, July 16(?), they reported her missing but Casey stuck to her lies because of the chloroform.
9) In August ,Roy Kronk the meter reader, saw the skull and reported it 4 times. The cops came out (eventually), took a quick look but didn’t see the skull. Exiting the “swamp” the cop slipped and got his pretty little shoes dirty and probably his pretty little uniform dirty and thus proceeded to chew out Roy Kronk for wasting his time. Roy Kronk thought to himself, “F-you, find your own damn body then”. (Eventually, the cop was fired.)
10) Shortly after this Tropical Storm Fay hit. At my house on the coast we got between 20-25 inches of rain and so the burial “swamp” was flooded substantially for a few months.
11) In December Roy Kronk had that meter route again and thought, “I wonder if that body is still there?” Sure enough, it was. This time, even the cops found the body.(The Roy Kronk story is more complicated than this summary.)
They haven’t had the closing arguments yet but right now I’d lean toward convicting her of Aggravated Manslaughter and the 4 charges of lying to the cops. My guess is she’d get about 15-25 years for these convictions and in Florida a convict must serve at least 85% of their sentence.
