Good morning to all.
I thought I would get this thread up bright and early so I could concentrate on work until the trial begins. I believe it starts at 9:00 a.m. today.
The State is presenting its important rebuttal case, which will include two Gentiva representatives, one of which will likely be a custodian of records. That person would need to authenticate Cindy's time sheets, which were subpoenaed. The State plans to admit that evidence to impeach her testimony that it was she, and not Casey, who did the computer searches on chloroform. The chloroform searches go directly to premeditation, a critical element in a death penalty case.
I understand that closing arguments will be heard Saturday (tomorrow) and then the jury will "get deliberated." (I love saying that!)
Time to put on a big pot of coffee...
Just look at her “party pics” and take note of her companions. Wouldn’t you think she could get her hands on whatever she wanted, whether it’s ready-made chloroform or Xanax or even more sinister things? She wasn’t hanging out with people from the social register.
No, I don’t get it. You said that maggots cause “smells.” Garbage cause smells, rotting meat cause smells but maggots are not particularly smelly. And none of these things smell like the Smell of Death. Get it?
Yes the maggots ate the meat that caused the smell.
The PI’s are part of the evidence as is the “Psychic” She stated she had no interest in them.
Agreed- I think she could get anything from her pals- I’m just curious why the state wasn’t able to find evidence of it..
BUT- this is a circumstantial case and that’s just one of the mysteries that may never be answered.
I do suspect that the police could have done more. For instance, we already know they could have checked out the meter reader’s report—that’s on the record. The scripted teevee detectives would have unearthed a lot more—but on the more reality-based shows like the First 48, you see that they miss some things, and sometimes just take off for a night’s rest and let things ride while the perps leave town and disappear. Doesn’t mean they’re bad detectives, just that there are limits to what a human can do.
I still wish they could have done more.
I’m not sure about the chloroform either, although I consider it a possibility. It could also be an accident—maybe she left the wee one hidden in the trunk while she partied, and the child died from over-heating. If so, it was a convenient accident, because I believe she intended to get rid of that inconvenient child.
Oh, I hope to God she didn’t leave her in the trunk - alive. Imagine the fear of the poor child. Some things we’ll never know.
I had a son-in-law that is one, as much as I believe in marriage forever I was so happy when my daughter finally saw right through him and got him out of her life. He was so messed up, lies, lies even when the truth was better. He also had some cult like way of controlling her when they were together. They can be very convincing at times- suck some people right into their web of craziness.
I pray for you that your son will wake up, we became convinced our daughter never would- but one day she came to her senses.
I have never understood why she didnt just make her defense that Caylee and she were going for a swim. The phone rang and she went to get it it, came out and Caylee was dead in the pool. She panicked and knew she would get blamed and made the rest up.
I don’t think so. This is an excerpt from the 2nd interview with Casey. This is the investigator speaking. I think she latched onto this and decided to run with it:
1 There’s nothing you’re gonna tell any of the three of us that’s gonna surprise us
2 okay.
3 A Uh-huh. (Affirmative)
4 Q I’ve had to sit down with..with mother;s who rolled over their babies accidentally.
5 I’ve had to sit down with mothers whose kids have drowned in swimming pools.
6 I’ve had to sit down with mothers who had boyfriends who beat their kids to
7 death. Ah, you know who..who felt horrible about what happened. And then try,
8 and I had to go to them and help them try to explain to their families okay. And
9 then I’ve also had to deal with people who have done horrible, unspeakable
10 things to children. And then lied about it and lied about it and lied about it okay.

Thanks for that link. It’s not one I’ve run across yet. Aren’t we all going blind from looking these things up? Maybe not blind but surely a little bit nutty! Well, to each his own, I say. It’s like a good book.....
“I cant believe it is taking Baez this long to depose 2 people.””
Aren’t they using this time to work on their closing arguments? I thought all depositions were over with yesterday. He can’t reopen his case so why the depo?
“”I cant believe it is taking Baez this long to depose 2 people.””
Sorry - I am reading from the last posts and didn’t notice this was yesterday......
I believe it was on Nancy Grace last night where it was said that a mother had seen the same thing in her daughter and got the child away from her.
In the morning on Friday morning the judge gave the defense time to depose these two witnesses from Gentiva. The judge saw it as a stall tactic because what they were testifying to were computer records. But...the judge gave them the time because it was a death penalty case.
I was speaking to how at 9 in the morning it could be until after 1 and we had still not started the trial for Friday.
The judge gave them all day today to prepare for closing arguments based on the whole case.
I was glad because I was unable to watch early today;)
It is so obvious. George killed Caylee. Caylee was getting old enough to tell Casey about being molested by George. He drowned her while Casey was sleeping in order to shut her up. When Casey woke George was waiting for her with the dead Caylee. From there take the case by Baez and it all fits. The state Bungled the investigation from the start by only focusing on Casey. George was in the background manipulating the whole show. Not even Casey knew that George had done the Murder. She thought he was helping her avoid jail for child abuse. She is obviously a Lunatic and easily manipulated by George .
Here’s a fascinating timeline if you’ve not seen one yet.
