Agreed- I think she could get anything from her pals- I’m just curious why the state wasn’t able to find evidence of it..

BUT- this is a circumstantial case and that’s just one of the mysteries that may never be answered.

I do suspect that the police could have done more. For instance, we already know they could have checked out the meter reader’s report—that’s on the record. The scripted teevee detectives would have unearthed a lot more—but on the more reality-based shows like the First 48, you see that they miss some things, and sometimes just take off for a night’s rest and let things ride while the perps leave town and disappear. Doesn’t mean they’re bad detectives, just that there are limits to what a human can do.

I still wish they could have done more.

......and there are plenty of mysteries associated with this case. One thing I've been wondering is why there was a decomposition smell picked up by the dogs in the back yard? If the theory is that Casey brought the dead child back to the Anthony's to try to bury her there (when she borrowed the shovel from the neighbor), why would she take her out of the car, lay her on the ground, etc. until the hole/burial spot was ready?

Anyone could have come home, walked into that back yard. By removing a body from the car, laying it on the ground while she was working/figuring out what to do, she would be leaving herself very exposed. She knew the neighbor was home. What if he decided to amble over to see how her "bamboo digging" was going...offer a helping hand. The more I thought about that aspect, it made no sense why she would bring the body out of a trunk.

Of course, there is no accounting for stupidity, but is it possible that this is where the child died, then the body was placed into the trunk afterword? There was no decomp smell associated near the pool, only in the area of the playhouse/sandbox.
