Casey Anthony Live Trial Thread, Day 44 (7/01/11)
Free Republic | July 1, 2011 | truthkeeper

Posted on 07/01/2011 5:02:44 AM PDT by truthkeeper

Good morning to all.

I thought I would get this thread up bright and early so I could concentrate on work until the trial begins. I believe it starts at 9:00 a.m. today.

The State is presenting its important rebuttal case, which will include two Gentiva representatives, one of which will likely be a custodian of records. That person would need to authenticate Cindy's time sheets, which were subpoenaed. The State plans to admit that evidence to impeach her testimony that it was she, and not Casey, who did the computer searches on chloroform. The chloroform searches go directly to premeditation, a critical element in a death penalty case.

I understand that closing arguments will be heard Saturday (tomorrow) and then the jury will "get deliberated." (I love saying that!)

Time to put on a big pot of coffee...

if anything YOUR bias is what is obvious here. the jurors have been informed of the procedure, of which you appear to be ignorant, and they are informed that there are rules to be complied with, and if an objection is sustained it is because the rules prevent that from being heard. DESPERATION is your bias coloring your viewing of this case. like i said, i haven’t seen a minute of the trial and have only followed it casually via fox news commentators.

Actually we used to have a freeper who thought “rampid” was the correct spelling/pronunciation of rampant. I rarely agreed with her on anything either. I didn’t know if you meant kimchi or if kim tee was a completely different word. I searched and found Kim Tee as a girl’s name so I assumed you had the wrong word.

You know I raised my kids with one very specific rule. Don’t lie to me. I don’t care how bad they thought the problem might be, ALWaYS tell me the truth. I promised them that if they were truthful I would always be fair and that ANY problem can be worked out if I know the TRUTH. I kept my promise and so did they

I took the exact same approach with my daughter! From the time she started talking I told her nothing would make me more angry than finding out she lied to me and that if she told me the truth, much as I disliked what it might be, I'd always take that into consideration when disciplining her. Of course, she lied to me through the years...what teenager doesn't? The thing is she never got very good at it because it never worked for her to lie to me. I think with Casey the lies always got accepted as the truth and when something works you keep doing it.

Isn’t that the truth. I would be certifiably insane if I had to put up with all this BS. OMG.

Wasn’t there a line in George Anthony’s suicide note about how he was told not to be negative when dealing with casey through the years? I took that to mean any time he questioned her lies cindy told him to stop - and look where it got them.

Yes and remember He wanted to track down Casey and Caylee during the 31 days and Cindy told him to STAY OUT OF IT. SHE WOULD HANDLE CASEY.

Cindy and Casey TWO of a KIND.

I hate wrongful convictions, too, but I believe they have the right perp on this one.

That is what they say. If they come back too fast, you aren’t going to like it if you are the defendant.

So, what say you? Guilty of 1st degree murder?

I do hope Casey is convicted but have said before if some idiot is on the jury who can't put together all of the circumstantial evidence, and they can't convict, the consolation for me is that Cindy gets Casey back in her home and has to deal with her forever.

And just to predict the casey lovers comments: EVEN DNA is circumstantial evidence - On its own, it is the nature of circumstantial evidence for more than one explanation to still be possible. Inference from one piece of circumstantial evidence may not guarantee accuracy. Circumstantial evidence usually accumulates into a collection, so that the pieces then become corroborating evidence. Together, they may more strongly support one particular inference over another. An explanation involving circumstantial evidence becomes more valid as proof of a fact when the alternative explanations have been ruled out. Wikipedia

SO if that happened. Do you think we might be back in a few years with Casey on trial for chloroforming and duct taping ole Cindy.LOL.

George will at least not be there to put up with the BS. Cindy will kick him out at Casey’s insistance.

That poor little girl had the biggest most beautiful eyes.

This is so sad. I see that face and then I see Casey out yucking it up in those bars and buying nighties at Target. It really makes me ill.

“Do you have a theory?”

I do have a theory...
1) Casey probably did search for how to make it chloroform.
2) She made some and used it to get Caylee to sleep but she overdosed her and killed her. Either that or she put her to sleep with chloroform, went shopping and left Caylee in the car (which would get to about 120 degrees in a Florida June) where she died.
3) She knew she couldn’t report this because of the chloroform so she put the body in the trunk and drove around until she came up with the story about the nanny kidnapping her.
4) Meanwhile, the body continues to decompose in the Florida heat. A few days later, when she knew George and Cindy were at work, she drove home, backed into the garage, took the body and placed it down in the yard planning to bury her there, perhaps under the playhouse. She went to the neighbor and borrowed his shovel. She came back and quickly discovered she can’t move the playhouse and there’s no other place to dig that wouldn’t be obvious because the yard is kept in an emaculant state. She could have moved the pavers under the playhouse one by one, dug the grave, and put the pavers back. Either she thought she didn’t have time for that or that it was too much work (and Casey isn’t used to doing a lot of hard work). So she abandoned that idea and returned the shovel about one hour later.
5) The body was starting to ooze fluids from the mouth and nose and had oozed out onto the carpet in the trunk so she wiped up the fluid with the paper towel and put duct tape over the mouth and nose to contain the oozing. The heart shaped sticker on the duct tape means, “I’m sorry, Caylee, I didn’t mean to do this”. Then she put the body in the plasic bags and threw in the paper towel as well.
6) She couldn’t think of a better place so she put the body in the same “jungle” where it was eventually found.
7) Again, she couldn’t report the death because of the chloroform and she had her story about the nanny and so she had to pretend to her friends and mother that everything was OK and told Cindy these wild stories about going to Tampa and Jacksonville.
8) Eventually, of course, Cindy demanded to see Caylee, who tracked down Amy Huizenga who took her to Casey. That night, July 16(?), they reported her missing but Casey stuck to her lies because of the chloroform.
9) In August ,Roy Kronk the meter reader, saw the skull and reported it 4 times. The cops came out (eventually), took a quick look but didn’t see the skull. Exiting the “swamp” the cop slipped and got his pretty little shoes dirty and probably his pretty little uniform dirty and thus proceeded to chew out Roy Kronk for wasting his time. Roy Kronk thought to himself, “F-you, find your own damn body then”. (Eventually, the cop was fired.)
10) Shortly after this Tropical Storm Fay hit. At my house on the coast we got between 20-25 inches of rain and so the burial “swamp” was flooded substantially for a few months.
11) In December Roy Kronk had that meter route again and thought, “I wonder if that body is still there?” Sure enough, it was. This time, even the cops found the body.(The Roy Kronk story is more complicated than this summary.)

They haven’t had the closing arguments yet but right now I’d lean toward convicting her of Aggravated Manslaughter and the 4 charges of lying to the cops. My guess is she’d get about 15-25 years for these convictions and in Florida a convict must serve at least 85% of their sentence.

My impression from reading your posts is you are concerned with what YOU perceive as fairness and/or bias in a civilian sense. This is a court/legal proceeding and the rules are NOT the same as in “life”.

Rules of evidence, depositions of witnesses and court procedures are what Judge Perry is going by. WE may see his rulings as favorable to the prosecution- but keep in mind we aren’t lawyers or judges and do not understand these rules and their impact as they do.

Meanwhile, much of what you haven’t seen is how really fair this judge HAS been in the rulings he COULD have made and ways he COULD have shaped the direction(s) the trial has gone. Baez has gotten away with a lot more than it appears.

That sounds like a pretty good explanation.

However, the chloroforming of the child and leaving her in a hot car is child abuse, resulting in a death. There is a lesser charge than the death penalty 1st degree that was added to the list this time.
