I am feeling very well thank you. I don't know what happened, but I feeling great. This year I lost weight from 198 to 123 and it feels good.

days pass, sweaty clothes
a trickle of blood from an unseen nailhead
and splinters, lots of splinters
needles have not seen that much fire since the day they were made

when the last nail is driven
the last board cut
the last screw turned
and the last flow of glue swells and drips away

a toast
made at 7:45 with black coffee, brown sugar
and a little sawdust floating on the top
at that moment, looking at the shelves, tables
and a workbench made from recycled 2X4s and reclaimed plywood
there is little else on Earth that tastes better
