I was just watching the original "True Grit" starring John Wayne. Yes, he deserved his Oscar for the role of Rooster Cogburn but opposite him was someone who played his part horribly. I am talking about Glenn Campbell as the Texas Ranger. Sheesh! Talk about stilted delivery. Really bad. Another example of bad acting was also in a John Wayne movie---"The Alamo." It was Frankie Avalon as Smitty who was supposed to be a young Tennessee frontiersman. I like Frankie Avalon in the beach flicks but, let's face it, he was waaay too urban to be believable in the role of Smitty. Whenever I see "The Alamo," it is impossible to forget that this is just a movie because of Frankie Avalon's completely unconvincing acting.
There are many other major movies with examples of really horrible acting. I cited a couple of such examples, so please list yours.
The actor who played Gandalf was who I wanted for Dumbledore in Harry potter movies.
Not true.
Arnold Stang was a well-known character actor from the 40s-60's. He was in that movie, too.
Schwarzenegger starred as "Arnold Strong."

Alec Baldwin as Jimmy Doolittle in “Pearl Harbor”. Fall-down funny casting.
However, he certainly is no actor.
Doesn’t he always play Matt Damon?
;0) I do think he has matured (maybe that’s the difference and not better acting) in The Hereafter.
Ryan O’Neal’s performance in Tough Guys Don’t Dance was AWFUL!!!
Blade Runner?
As much as I hate to admit it, Jane Fonda was pretty good in Cat Ballou.
Jim Carrey in The Majestic. he was a blacklisted Hollywood writer. So liberal and so pathetic.
I think Giant was a great film. The three main characters were all 24 and they did a good job telling a story about Texas.
Whoops! I stand corrected.
Worse acting EVER.
Costner is best when he plays a taciturn character with no affect or charisma... in other words, himself.
I did like him in Open Range, though.
Duke Wayne went to no acting school and quickly became a great, GREAT film star. I am a total movie SLUT and John Wayne is my favorite actor. full stop.
Sorry, you can’t herd cats or freepers.
But I will say Will Ferrell in Elf (and everything else he’s ever done)
She was hysterical in Victor/Victoria though. Did you see that movie?
You are quite correct.
It is very funny how people today, in the West (and since taken up by Muslims) obsess about the evils of the Crusades.
For Islam the Crusades were an ingrown toenail compared to the car crash of the Muslim invasion. Many parts of Central and SE Asia have never recovered.
The Mongols killed 40M to 60M people, something around 10% to 15% of the world’s population at the time. Nobody else has ever come close to matching that record.
I’m watching Presumed Innocent right now... I think Harrison Ford is pretty good in it.
Vanilla Ice in Cool as Ice.
Oh maybe I shouldn’t admit I watched that. My brothers friends loved it though.
