I'm the proud owner of two ice cream makers. Each 6 qt. capacity. When I want to make more than 6 qts. at a time, I use both of them, like when I made 12 qts. for a church dinner.
Making ice cream is a time consuming process.
When I bought my first one at W-M, I dropped it and broke the lid as soon as I got it home, (Only moving part). It would have been a simple matter to take it back to the store and say, "This was broken already when I took it out of the box" but that would have broken one of the ten simple rules I try to live by, so instead, I went back to the store and bought two more.
I've only engaged in it once. It seems a lot like work to me.
One of my sisters-in-law has made it into kind of a hobby for events and has come up with some interesting flavors, many IMHO, to taste better than such as Baskin Robbins in days of yore.
