WASHINGTON (Reuters) - New claims for unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week, a government report showed on Thursday, suggesting little improvement in the labor market this month after employment stumbled in May.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits climbed 9,000 to a seasonally adjusted 429,000, the Labor Department said. The prior week's figure was revised up to 420,000.

Interesting. With 0bama in the WH, it’s 400K. The “stable labor market” benchmark was 325K when Bush was President. Why don’t we just say 500K new claims or less indicates “robust growth” and go from there?

Just the latest MSM effort to change the meme. This, along with $4 gasoline and $250 weekly grocery bills, will be the new "normalcy". That way, when Nov. 2012 rolls around, the sheeple will look around and say to themselves, hey, things look pretty good, pretty much "normal", let's give Big Ears another term, and he gets re-elected in a landslide. You watch, story after story in the MSM will harp on this to inoculate the masses to the new reality of life under Odumbo. If enough sheeple think its fine and "normal", Obummer is in.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s all fun and games until somebody loses a liver.

With no challenge from the left(but can you get farther left than Obama) and no Republican rival that excites the base, his chances to lose are minimal.

We are so screwed.

UNEXPECTED!

It is too early to start drinking, isn't it?

It depends on your time zone.

Just the latest MSM effort to change the meme.

Been saying that since last year! The MSM is going to try again what they FAILED to do for Jimmy Carter!

For those that do not remember, the MSM did this exact same thing for Jimmy Carter (and everyone - including Dems and the MSM - HATED Jimmy)! However, they had this same meme in the mid-to-late 70's!

Are high gas prices here to stay?
Is inflation here to stay?
Extreme Right-Wing dragging Republicans away from "normal!"

The Dems, liberals and MSM (but of course I repeated myself) use the "lower the bar" method every time their stupid ideas FAIL! EVERY SINGLE TIME! I am pretty sure this comes in second to the "race card" on the list of deflection methods sent out as talking points from the DNC!

Funny how they refused to use the ‘unexpected’ word.

Wait till the journ0lists start using a thesaurus...

"Jobless claims rise adventitiously"

"Jobless claims rise heteromorphically"

"Jobless claims rise heterodoxically"
