We need somebody who can WIN this thing. That means somebody with cross-over appeal, which our Palen, Bachmann and Cain (no matter how much we love them) simply do not have.

IMMIGRATION:
Perry adds immigration issues to lawmaker session
Perry wants passage of a measure requiring every person arrested to be run through the federal immigration databases as part of the Secure Communities program. He also wants to provide the state Department of Public Safety with the authority to make sure someone is in the U.S. legally before issuing a driver’s license.
These measures, along with a ban on sanctuary cities, would “provide a clear message that Texas will not turn a blind eye to those breaking our laws,” Perry said in a statement.
“Texas owes it to the brave law enforcement officials, who put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and communities, to give them the discretion they need to adequately do their jobs,” Perry said.

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES:
Perry does not believe there is valid scientific proof of anthropogenic global warming. He has said several times that there is no scientific consensus on the issue.[69] In a September 7, 2007, speech to California Republicans, Perry said, “Virtually every day another scientist leaves the global warming bandwagon. ... But you won’t read about that in the press because they have already invested in one side of the story.”

Reports are the governor will sign Bill HB2510 by June 19th.
Bill HB2510 allows for the manufacture and sale of incandescent light bulbs otherwise banned in federal legislation of 2007, applicable from 1 January 2012 onwards.
The legality, at least in the way the proposed law is framed, has apparently been cleared with the US Attorney General’s office.
The Bill has already passed in both House and Senate with overwhelming support.
While Texas has no current manufacture, relevant parties are being invited to restart it.
Texas has been a leading US state in providing new local jobs, and this is seen as a further contributive measure.

Having been in Texas for a decade I have periodically answered the Rick Perry question in the following way,
1) Perry is the consumate politician and capable of changing direction on a dime if he senses something can benefit him or hurt him (almost as good as Clinton at this).
2) Perry is an international globalist who tried to ram through the Nafta super highway in Texas and was stopped by a mass grassroots uprising, even now he periodically tries to sneak parts of it back in. KBH savaged him on this during the governer race as the taxpayer funded project was going to make his foreign associates in Spain big bucks when they got to collect the tolls for the next few decades.
3) Perry wins against people like KBH because he is perceived as the lesser of two evils thanks to his ability to smoothly change his talking points.
4) Perry has overseen a resilent economy in Texas during his watch but some of his upside in this area is due to Texas being a commonsense red state with a conservative government.
5) Perry only recently got tough sounding on illegal immigration but has really never lifted a finger to enforce stopping it (much like Bush, Clinton, and Obama). He is smart enough to not openly veto any legislation on this area.
6) Perry tried to force young girls to take a drug to prevent cervical cancer. This blew up in his face and he retreated once people began questioning his ties to the drug provider.
Perry is another hand picked international globalist who’s job is to get through the primaries. The MSM is promoting him because the elites know that Romney is damaged goods and unsalvagable to the base. In that sense he is Romney 2.0. Perry will take his marching orders from the elites if he is elected and will greatly disappoint the conservative base in my opinion (similar to the way Obama and Bush ignored their base).
If he actually was at the Bildenberg meeting that would show he was groomed and handpicked for this moment by the elites, just like previous Presidents. The more the MSM talks him up, the more you know the fix is in. People need to wise up and pick the one that the MSM ignores or hates (but they won’ t).
