"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

Evening, Vision.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Hello, Vision. I’m glad your Texas trip was good. We Texans are a hospitable bunch!
This Free Republic trouble is aggravating, so I hope my comments do not end up double-posting.
We saw there was no line-up. I hope Mr. Walker is okay.

Life is status quo, hope yours is at least, as well. Is it me, or is the site having problems this evening? I've been getting a lot of 503 errors.

- 7:00 p.m. Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar
2/21/60 Matter #679 "The Alvin's Alfred Matter" Bob Bailey, Virginia Gregg (Mabel Brixton), G. Stanley Jones (George Reed), Howard McNear (Alvin Peabody Cartwright), Frank Gerstle (Clarence Brixton) ; Writer/ Producer/Director - Jack Johnstone ; Announcer - John Wald ; Expense Account Total = "You can forget the expense account. Cartwright did all right by me, as usual." ; "A real wildy - a real strain on my sanity - but I think you'll like it." George Reed of Floyd's of England informs Johnny that his company has taken over the insurance of Alvin Peabody Cartwright from Continental Insurance Company. One of Alvin's many policies is on his "ward" Alfred, his female dog. Alfred is missing. Johnny goes to Alvin's Lakewood home and learns that Alvin is sure that Clarence Brixton, a stupid day servant that Alvin fired yesterday, has stolen Alfred while Alvin was visiting the widow Parkinson. Alvin shows Dollar Alfred's room which contains, among many other things, a working seismograph. Dollar goes to Brixton's residence and meets Mabel Brixton who alibis for her husband. Clarence Brixton then appears and Dollar fools him into confessing and returning the dog by saying that the seismograph recorded his clumsy footsteps with the time when he stole Alfred.

They haven’t said. It’s weird and not quite like a DoS attack, but certainly a nuisance.

Hey there Gina. You Texans are. I saw a 12 year old boy walking down the Riverwalk with a Bush “Miss me yet” tshirt. That was very cool to a long time deep blue stater.

Blake's wife and twelve year old son try desperately to bring in the crop, but fail. Ed has five days to vacate. In the meantime Caleb insults Miss Kitty and Matt punches him out. Matt approaches Clem Bates, the banker, to help Ed, but Clem says he can't. Ed and his family ask if they can spend the night in the jail, they have been evicted with only the clothes on their back. Jimmy grabs a rifle and takes off intent on killing Caleb. Matt finds him and faces him down to prevent him from committing murder. Jimmy promises to return the rifle to the rack. When sympathetic townspeople at Kitty's "Texas Trail" raise the $420 to pay the debt off, Andrews refuses for he wants Ed's land. It is worth $2000 now and will be worth three times that soon. Matt and Chester hatch a plan to frustrate Caleb's greedy designs. Matt conducts a foreclosure sale on each item from the Blake estate. No body bids on the bread board, nor the crib, etc. They go straight to bidding on the acreage, house and barn. Chester wins the bid with $8420 - and he has the cash. Matt gives the $420 to Caleb with Ed getting the $8000. Chester then offers to sell the farm for $8000, taking a "$420 loss". This was the money raised by the folks at The Texas Trail. Chester gets the $8000 back to Clem Bates at the bank.
