self

Does anyone know much about the adroid apps and widgets for the fascinate phone?

My wife an I both have the fascinate and I found a really cool battery widget to display the battery level and it works well on my phone. I installed the same widget on my wife's phone but it wont display. I have reinstalled it and unistalled it five times with the same results. I have tried other widgets and still can't display them. What the heck are they for if you can't see or access them??? What am I missing, is there some setting on her phone that is blocking this function? I really don't know how to make it work and am about ready to give up. Any suggestions?

you have the same version of the software installed? If so, I would just uninstall and re-install again to see if it would work. If it is the same phone and same software version installed, there’s no reason it shouldn’t work correctly.

I can see that it is installed but cannot find the battery icon anywhere or a menu option to show it. My phone just displayed it from the start but hers won’t display it.
They are identical phones bought on the same day at the same place. any thoughts on where i would look to find a menu?

The icon may be in the apps menu. I have the Droid X and when I download an app, I need to drag it from this menu into a home screen. Good luck!

I got it. I had to reinstall it and from the home background push the menu key, then add, then widgets, and they the battery life widget.

On Droids you can just press and hold down on an empty spot on the home screen and add a widget.

Or from the screen you want to add the shortcut press menu (left button on the bottom), select Add/Shortcuts/Applications....then select the app you want to add to the screen.
