I sent my taxes off via USPS in the first week in April......here we are going into the 2nd week in June and nothing. I can't recall it ever taking this long.
We got our refund about 2 weeks after filing (electronically).
The Chinese called in the chips on our line of credit. No payment for you!
LOL!
The US is broke. You’ll have to wait until they have printed enough bills to send you your refund.
Ask them to pay you out in gold.
LOL. “All your tax refund belong to us !!!”
Adjust your withholding for the rest of this year so that you owe money rather than than having to wait for a refund.
Refunds delayed by late changes in federal tax laws

Taxpayers expecting a refund from their federal income tax this year will have to wait longer than usual.
The delay was caused when majority Democrats in Congress delayed passage of an extension of the Bush tax cuts until late December in the lame duck session after the Nov. 2 election.
Because of the delay, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service has reported it needs more time to revise tax forms and instructions. In addition, the IRS tax software needs to be revised, tested and released to the public for use before the IRS can begin accepting tax returns.
The IRS has announced it wont begin processing returns until Feb. 14. All of the returns that have been sent to the IRS electronically or mailed have been piling up with a backlog.
The backlog is expected to delay the refunds even more. Just how long is anyones guess.
Taxpayers due a refund or who have itemized will have to wait longer than normal for a refund.
Three changes to IRS rules were included in three measures that were approved on Dec. 17. they included the Tax Relief Act extending Bush tax cuts, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and the Job Creation Act of 2010.
Here's the IRS's "Where's My Refund" page: https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp. You'll need your SS number, filing status (single, married, etc.) and your requested refund.
They want your support for raising the debt ceiling. Obama plays hardball.
It’s called “shrinkage”.
Also, if you took advantage of the 2008 first-time buyer program, the IRS computers will kick it out and it has to be processed by hand, or some-such-nonsense like that. Nothing but a bunch of lame excuses from the IRS.
Cheers
That’s great. Thank you, Karl!
Doesn’t surprise me. The way to do it is electronically. Got mine in a month, but it takes way longer by mail.
My experience is that my wife and I agreed decades ago, that it is far better to file our return with a check for the balance due, than to give the Government any of our money to use, interest free, and then sit and hope they send us a “refund”.
Our benchmark is to owe the IRS $1000 or less.
I got mine three weeks ago.
What’s a tax refund?
H&R Block filed for us electronically and we had our refund direct deposited in less than a week.
