It's doubtful that the Japanese will heavily subsidies the whaling after this year's debacle. However, Discovery may change the premise of the show and start following the SSCS to other locations. I haven't seen it in writing, but I'll bet Discovery has a film crew aboard the Irwin and Bridget Bardot right now off Libya.

Several millions of dollars in ships, fuel and equipment so you can throw bottles of rotten butter at some ships in the Antarctic. And they are absolutely confident it’s all worth it.
This is why hippies shouldn’t be allowed in government.

My ComCRASH crapped out on me eight minutes into the show I DVRed the reruns.
Doesn't Locky look like a total goof? Well that's a stupid question they all look like goofs.
Check out their teeth I bet none of them ever entered a dentist's office in their entire lives.
Does Vegan Food cause tooth decay? Maybe some sleazy lawyer could look into that.
I will post my thoughts if the stupid DVR records the re-run.
I found last week's episode to be incredibly boring. I'd rather watch an Anthony Weiner speech than watch those losers last week, boring, Discovery invent some debacle!!!

Well they are funded by narcissistic celebrities like Richard Dean Anderson, Martin Sheen and Bob Barker. I like RDA and Bob Barker, Sheen is a tool.
These people piss money like Charlie Sheen's son at a coke party with all the porn stars he can buy.
The sad thing is I love RDA because of Stargate SG-1 but he only shows up at conventions where all of the money goes the Paul Watson. I ain't paying for that autograph...

Haha, they lost the factory ship and now they are being tailed to tell the mother ship where they are. Next week looks like they get their prop fouled, too bad the Japs don’t have torpedoes for these ecoterrorists.

Japan’s whaling industry was dealt its most severe blow by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. The entire coastal town of Ayukawa, where much of the industry was located, was destroyed.
http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20110318a7.html
This is the final hunt, one way or another. Given the intense need to shift financial resources to cope with the earthquake and tsunami victims, there is not going to be much sympathy for propping up whaling.
I think the whalers understand that.

I agree. I’d be willing to bet that the last season, maybe two, were funded more for pride than anything else.

If the Steve Irwin and BB are headed to Libyan waters — what if they are targeted by Gadaffi or (more likely) by NATO. Ooops. Sorry about that. Did we sink your ships and machine gun your crews?
