LOS ANGELES – Billionaire Philip Anschutz is prepared to acquire majority ownership in an NFL franchise in order to bring a team to Farmers Field, the downtown stadium proposed by the Anschutz Entertainment Group, AEG president Tim Leiweke told the Orange County Register on Thursday night.
Leiweke, in confirming for the first time Anschutz's interest in purchasing a majority share of a team to return the NFL to Southern California after a nearly 16-year absence, Leiweke also said he has spoken with officials from five NFL franchises: Minnesota, San Diego, Oakland, St. Louis and Jacksonville.

It would be funny to see the St. Louis Rams move back to L.A. and become the Los Angeles Rams again.
I would worry too about the thuggish element that is so prominent at L.A. area sporting events. Is there any way to keep gang banger guys out of these events, without somehow violating constitutional rights? Just wondering.
Three of those teams have already escaped from LA once.
Move the Rams back to Los Angeles, the Cardinals back to St. Louis and create a new team for Arizona - “The Arizona Border Jumpers”.

I’m an L.A. Kings season ticket holder and our “thugs” are well-educated and speak English. Growing up in the hockey hotbed of Vancouver, Kings “thugs” are kinda Disney to me.
Now the proposed center would be out of the L.A CITY limits, which last heard was Industry, which is the middle of nowhere. Either way, I;ve been to Dodger stadium and it’s a La Raza festival unless you have seats close to the dugout.
I would like to see San Antonio get a team, but that will never happen.
Twins may as well stay. They got their new stadium. They won’t start lobbying for a new one for at least 10 years.
“Just stay away, baby”. Keep the Raider Nation up in Oakland! We do not need their thug mentality. There is already have enough of it in L.A.

Why even attach a team to a city. Just move ‘em around. “Home Team” is so 20th century.
They could have an auction every summer. Every city in the country could bit on a team. Games go to the highest bidder.
How much taxpayer money will be wasted on this playground?

I believe his billions were made in Oil & Gas Exploration. I recall analyzing well cores from the Anschutz Ranch “play” in Utah back in the early 80’s.
