The Army Times reports on this inter-service squabble:
The Army in coming weeks will select its top camouflage contenders to cover your next combat uniform. A leading choice is the Marine Corps MARPAT.
But although the outgoing top enlisted Marine says you cant use it, the Army general who launched the effort begs to differ.

I suspect those helmets have saved more than one person.
My dad served in WW2, and I can only hope that the poor soul who wore the helmet my dad brought home as a souvenir wasn't wearing it when it got the crack in it.
Roger that..:=)
When I was in boot camp, our Drill Sergeant never made us do pushups. He just put us in the front leaning rest and dared for us to go down when our arms gave out. Then the REAL FUN began! Bwahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!!
As a matter of fact, the first time I ever saw MultiCam, my first thought was that it was either some kind of German upgrade or a high tech variation of the Australian DPCU.
Yeah, when I was in the Corps we had a lot of hand me down U.S. Army equipment ... only we knew how to make it work. The U.S.M.C, in terms of bang for the buck, is America's best fighting force ... no question. If Marines had landed in Normandy on June 6, 1944 with the same numbers the U.S. Army did ... the war in Europe would have been over in 5 months.
What’s that old saying: I would rather have a sister that works in a house of ill-repute than a brother in the Army!
I’m just kidding! After getting us out of one helluva pickle in the 1st Gulf War, my unit sent about 30 cases of beer up to Ft. Bragg to give to the Apache unit! We were surrounded by about 20 tanks and the four Apache’s said they were not going back with full racks. They cleaned house and saved our bacon!
We service guys know that it is all fun and games at home, but once you are in the thick of it, give me another American - regardless of his service! ANYTIME!
When I was in boot camp, I had KP one morning at about 0230.
They chose that time to spray the bowl and plate racks. The roaches fell like rain.
I lost 20 lbs. in boot camp for good reason.
First: the Marines copyrighted their MarPat and they were the first to issue the new digital pattern; the Army's ACU was not issued until much later.
Second: every bit of genuine Marine MarPat has a miniature globe, anchor, and eagle with “USMC” imprinted on it about every six inches.
If the Army steals Marine MarPat, all they're going to do is get a lot of advertising for the USMC. What the Army needs to do — go to the MiltiCam and have done with it. Stop dithering and stop making stupid statements!
?????
I don't believe you just said that!
I like you Marines, but that was uncalled for!
Not trying to stir ****, but where are the Air Force and Navy guys tonight?

Marines are pussies.

Ah, the title of the thread is an Army-Marine theme, and we have indeed had plenty of conversation, some good, some not so...
I have a tiger suit somewhere, I think.

Looks like the western Maryland Girl Scouts have checked in.
It was a common perception in military circles in that era. Particularly in late 1944 and early 1945 when the U.S. Army was caught flat footed in the Battle of the Bulge.
“It was a common perception in military circles in that era.”
We await your research expertise, the use of spell check, and your related link.
It seems to me you have read the wrong history books; seems the eventual outcome was USA-1, Germany-0.
I guess we can second guess Gen. Eisenhower's decisions here all day.
The bottom line?
Don't bad-mouth your fellow Servicemen! We're all in it together!
Semper Fi, from an old Army guy!
I'm with you Navy Bro!
Just hope the "Midshipmen" know they are going to get their arses kicked by the beloved "Black Knights" this season.
