HOQUIAM, Wash. Police say a man was carrying a dead weasel when he burst into an apartment and assaulted a man in Washington state.
The victim asked, "Why are you carrying a weasel?" Police said the attacker answered, "It's not a weasel, it's a marten," then punched him in the nose and fled.

I know Tom feels terrible. The experience will be with him for many years, I fear. However, perhaps it is a blessing in disguise. It may be the wake-up call he hasn’t heard before.
I’m giving everyone a figurative kick in the behind about taking responsibility. I’ve done careless things that caused harm in my life, too, so I’m really just wanting him (them) to learn now and not later.
You should get an envelope from me today or tomorrow, was in Tuesday’s outgoing.
Ugly, humid day here. I have to go to the dentist at noon for the cleaning I’ve rescheduled three times. I was going to reschedule it again because Mom was going to visit, but her friend Mary had a fall on Tuesday, so Mom is helping to take care of Mary instead of Mary’s helping to take care of Dad.
Today, I think, she’s having a “helper” from “Seniors Helping Seniors” in to spend some time with Dad, see how they get along. He doesn’t need medical assistance, just someone with him seeing that he eats, takes his medicine, turns water off, and so on. No housework other than putting a dish in the dishwasher.
Some days, it just plain hurts to be a mom. I was telling my younger sister Tuesday that it’s hard to let kids make their own mistakes, but it’s really the only way some will learn.
Been there, done that.
I haven’t been to the PO since last Friday, so I really have to go tomorrow. Today was the planned day, but I decided after Tuesday night, that it would be best if I stayed home an extra day.
Since I have been gone for most of the last five weeks, my house has really suffered. I need to get busy on it, but I want a shower, first. The shower at my sister’s place was an exercise in futility. What a place! LOL!
Howdy!
A. Weiner?
‘Lo.
Back from the dentist, and then I took Ash for her walk in the woods. Other animals have been in the woods, but it was too hot for her to get as excited as she usually does.
That’s funny, but it’s not my house
I invite ‘em in, let ‘em talk awhile, and then the tiger comes out, and eats their dogma for lunch; albeit nicely.
We do always leave one alive to go back and warn the others.
Sadly, some have mistaken this gesture of goodwill as an invitation to come back and try again. JW’s are fun that way.
[shrug] Can’t really complain; it keeps the tiger fed.
Yah. I know exactly how that works!
My friend said I snored. I said, “It keeps the bears and the wolves away,” He said, “There ARE no bears and wolves!” I said (wait for it....) “See how good I am?”
(rimshot)
I just let the boys talk to them, and Ash sniffs. She is fond of Visitors; they might have food.
*sigh*
I have to go to Walmart again.
I will go to Walmart tomorrow and stop at the PO on the way. I hope it is cooler at 0500 than it has been. We’ve been in the low 80’s at night, with humidity in the 30’s. High for here...normally, in the single digits.
It’s been in the 70s here at night. We’ll probably have storms.
I replied, but it got lost in the ether. *sheesh*
Little Sis is experiencing Monsoons for the first time, and I don’t think she likes them with the accompanying flash flood warnings. She’s lived in hurricanes and earthqakes, but this is all new.
Anyway, I’m going to sit in my soft chair and knit on a baby thing I have been working on for three months. I have to get it done before the baby starts school!
I haven't had so many missionaries of any stripe come around since I got the last ones to agree that drinking booze was good for you.
I think they sense a trap being laid for them.
I never saw a cat that big before but maybe it is because I don’t have a front porch.
Howdy!
The cat actually belongs to the “50’ Woman,” of stupid movie fame. The house, of course, is normal-sized.
Howdy.
I don’t have a front porch, either.
Reasonably successful trip to the used book store. Good thing we didn’t take Ash ... there were Other Dogs there.
Howdy! We had a wonderful lightning show last night. Weather said we were supposed to have golf ball size hail and 70mph winds. That did not occur. Although the light show was wonderful to watch. I hope all is well with you! ;)
