We might have been schoolmates. :) I was a 12 year old Pirate fan. We lived in Brookline.

I was the biggest Willie Stargell fan ever. I miss Pops, and Chicken On The Hill. We used to go to Forbes Field and sit out in the left field bleachers. I think the tickets were a buck.

If I wasn’t at the game I was listening to the radio or watching it on TV. My friends and I collected baseball cards, and “flipped” them, which was a game of physical skill where you could win or lose cards.

My mother and I (both Delaware Valley born and bred) are Phillies phans, but we rooted for the Bucs in the '71 WS because mgr. Danny Murtaugh's mother babysat my mother when the latter was little, back in Chester, PA. Murtaugh was a native of Marcus Hook, PA.

RIP Jose, Danny, Roberto, and Pops.
