Better yet, grill it enough to get the flavor on the 3rd and heat it in the oven on the 4th.
While I agree with burn bans, this grilling ban on a single day is a bit ridiculous. It’s because everyone will be grilling and shooting off fireworks that day so there’s more of a chance of fires. The firefighters can handle one or two fires but if there’s more they won’t be able to get to them all and then it’ll be a disaster. We’ve also been having high winds more so than ever so that’ll send any flames on the dry grasses sweeping across the country.
We’ve had one bit of rain here since I don’t remember when. And that didn’t do any good since it dumped barrels in about 15 minutes and that was it. We were fighting to keep it from pouring into the house. Then it was just a run off so nothing much soaked in. We’ve had so little rain that we haven’t had wildflowers this spring and that’s unusual. There was a pasture fire a couple weeks ago that was out of control and people were evacuating their homes. We’ve been under a burn ban for months and I have trash piling up. It is a tinderbox here.
People who live in places where it rains regularly, have no idea what we deal with. (hell, some Texans don’t)
