Obama/Biden: 34%
McCain/Palin: 65%
Thanks, someone earlier mentioned that it was probably the Fire Marshall who imposed the ban; makes sense.
Good!
Ugh! 362 people there voted for Bob Barr! LOL!
We will have BBQ no matter what.
I have a feeling that lots of people will!
I lost my original ping list, but look out.
Thanks! Could you FM me your expanded list? I have just gotten mine by a few posts here and there. I’d be most appreciative. :)

Guadalupe County, east of San Antonio...
Just curious, how many wildfires are started by a grill? Gas or charcoal?
I live in Texas, just outside of Austin. We are experiencing the longest drought in many, many years—maybe the longest drought ever—across a great portion of the state. There was recently a grass fire not far from where I live that totally destroyed more than 11 homes, and damaged many more.In addition to that we have had weeks of 95+ degree weather, with strong winds that have dried us out even more. At this minute, there is another wildfire raging a few short miles from us, unless it has been put out in the past few hours and I haven’t heard about it.
Certainly we have freedom here—and most of us have enough sense not to fire up the barby for any reason at the present time. These rules/laws are for the idiots who don’t exercise good sense.
It seems that there are some here who just don’t get it.........It is going on 4 months now since we have had a drop of rain at my house. My home is situated so that we have a view of Lake Travis. At this time, what we have looks more like a view of the lake bed.
You consider all the propane you want, but I’m not eating anything that was cooked in contact with a flame that contains mercaptin.
>> “I have had two small fires get away from me” <<
.
Were they in your BBQ grill?
I burn huge piles of brush under 150 - 200 foot tall pines, and never have any trouble at all.

And your guns...
Drought, massive fires and illegals...
I can undertand it...it’s so freaking dry. One small accident or spark could get out of hand.
As a conservative I wouldn’t do it on my own and hate that government needs to waste our tax money monitoring morons. Whom they subsidize. Oh man, we are screwed.
I’m also smart enough to monitor my fire, but I wouldn’t start one if it was that bad. My choice, not the overlords. And if I damage others then I’m sued. I know, I know it sounds too simple but it really is. No amount of laws will stop the moron from burning down a neighborhood.
Freedom is difficult when idiots are involved.
A couple of years back we started 4 fires shooting fireworks on the 4th. We had prepositioned water hoses and buckets of water so, putting out the flames would be easy.
If the wind is blowing this 4th, we might have to take more extreme measures.
