Is it time to ask the questions no one dares ask?
Every detective since Sherlock Holmes knew that when all logical explanations have been examined and discarded, it's time to reexamine the "illogical" and even "impossible' explanations.
Let's look at what we know as fact.
Ms. Huma Abedin (AKA Ms Anthony Weiner) is the daughter of two prominent Muslims. Her mother even published a newspaper in London telling Muslim women how to be subservient to their husbands, follow the restrictive dictates of the Koran, and still have a "meaningful" life.
As a young staffer, Ms Abedin, who lived in the gay Adams-Morgan section of DC, received much very faltering media attention, including a 2007 Vogue photo-filled article. In a town of 100,000 single women, many wondered why she got all the attention.
She was Hillary Clinton's "traveling aide," AKA "butt girl" and was never far from Hilary's side, especially on long out-of-country trips.
Washington tongues have always wagged that Hillary was at least Bi, if not entirely gay after having her one "the plumbing works" baby, Chelsea. Abedin was seen by many as Hillary's "safe" partner after she was elected to the Senate.
Did Bill try to get so much trim on the side because he wasn't getting any at home?
Abedin married Weiner last summer in NY wedding officiated at by Slick. Weiner made no secret of his desire to be a rising star in Dem ranks. A blessing from the Clintons certainly wouldn't hurt, especially in New York.
Weiner has been chasing internet bimbos, including strippers and porn stars for months, if not years. The girls now admit to regular phone sex with him. Is this because he wasn't getting any at home?
Huma is off traveling with Hillary. Is she also being consoled by Hillary? She has issued no statement, not even the typical "stand by my man" rap.
I learned in the news business that one story is often released to try to cover a much deeper one. Where is the bottom of this? Was Weiner/Abedin all a sham to cover up Hillary/Huma?

In a city like Washington, the "gay neighborhood" may be the White or integrated neighborhood that's half-way fashionable and half-way affordable for twentysomethings. And the district that has the restaurants and theaters that attract young people may inevitably become tagged as the gay neighborhood (perhaps it works the other way, but there's certainly a connection). Having gone to GWU, Huma may have wanted to stay in the city and there are a lot of neighborhoods one doesn't go to or can't afford.
Your theory might have more credibility if Weiner's sexuality were also somehow ambivalent or ambiguous. But whatever else one can say about him, he's probably pretty consistently playing on the straight team in his creepy way. I guess it's possible that Huma might be lesbian or bi and Weiner married her anyway, but it's not anywhere near as likely as it would be if his own orientation were questionable.
I've been saying for days now that Anthony Weiner's personality and public statements just scream out "Jim McGreevey" in big, blaring headlines. This guy is a freak, and I would not be surprised in the least to see this story go down a very sordid road that makes "sexting" seem like a harmless kindergarten game.
