Good with me, and I ain’t no expert. I cringe at poor advice. To me that means telling newbies to buy a Glock or an AR, or a 1911A1 for that matter.
DA wheel guns, pump shotguns and bolt rifles are a good start.

Had my new 870 Remington magnum for some time before firing it. Lots of cool rack-rack sounds of course. Went out to try skeet with a friend, and was a complete farkup as I just did not have a feel for how much harder you have to shove the slide forward when actually chambering a round. Kept getting jammed up partway into the chamber and pumping again after shaking the shell out of the action. Shotgun equivalent of limp-wristing it I suppose.....
As a former Marine with tons of rifle experience, it was very embarrassing to not know proper pump shotgun handling in front of civilian friends.......
