1/31/60 "The Merry-Go-Round Matter" Matter #676 Bob Bailey, Larry Dobkin (Pat McCracken), Howard McNear (Alvin Peabody Cartwright), Frank Gerstle (Gummy O'Bannion), Will Wright ("Doc"), Forrest Lewis (doorman), Joseph Kearns (Jonathan W. Peoples) ; Writer/Producer/Director - Jack Johnstone ; Announcer - John Wald ; Expense Account Total = "Why bother? After all, by now Alvin Peabody Cartwright has probably forgotten that he sent for me" ; "Well, lets face it. The case I work on has more twists and turns and angles than anything you could imagine. It is called "The Merry-Go-Round Matter" and believe me the name fits. It all starts out with the loss of a valuable object of art, but from the collection of the wildest, most unpredictable old character I have ever known - and what's more he has a friend along - another character just to complicate matters - and I'll tell you this - you'll get more than one chuckle out of the whole affair." Pat McCracken, Universal Adjustment Bureau, Hartford, calls Johnny about wacky Alvin Peabody Cartwright. Johnny heads for the country of Lakewood and the mansion of Cartwright. Alvin has a Christmas present for him - a bill clip studded with genuine diamonds. Alvin also has a terrible problem for Johnny to solve. He has had a theft of an icon at his new art gallery. Alvin's friend Jonathan W. Peoples had noticed that the icon was gone after a ragged old man had fallen at the gallery. The guard was Gummy O'Bannion, an ex-gangster. Dollar goes to Gummy's place and overhears him talking to the old guy , "Doc", and he immediately goes to Peoples' place in New York City. The doorman sends him to Cartwright's place. Peoples hid the icon to teach Peabody a lesson on being more careful with his gallery. (Multi-Sponsored) (CBS) (24:02)

A sign indicates that it is under new management beginning at 8:00 PM. New management is named Mamie from St. Louis, who must have bought it from little Herman Bleeker. She is a pistol-toting dead shot, 190 pounder, with a loud, shrill voice. Matt asks her where Herman is. She says that she thought he left town. Manuel tells Matt that two hours before dawn he saw Mamie with a lantern and a shovel in the arroyo behind the Longhorn. Matt Chester and Doc go digging and find clothes, boots, and Herman's fancy vest with blood on it. Doc does tests on the blood - it is human blood. Finnegan, the barkeep, said that when he came into work at the Longhorn, Mamie was already there and told him to come back later that day. Matt uses various tricks to get Mamie to use up her bullets before he slips the handcuffs on her, and then charges her with the murder of Herman. Just then Herman shows up, and Mamie says that she has been chasing after her husband Herman ever since he ran out on her in Cincinnati. He has been holed up in an upstairs room, bruised and embarrassed. Chester has lost the keys to the handcuffs. (Sus.) (CBS) (29:44)

Evening, Vision. Gina, those baked beans sound just a few ingredients away from my homemade chili....LOL!

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."
