Where, Oh Deceiver, Is Thy Sting? The Tea Party and Racism
©2011 By Anthony James

As we approach the silliest of all Silly Seasons, it is important to bear a couple things in mind. While the run-up to, and then the engagement of, our quadrennial Presidential Elections are aptly referred to as “the Silly Season” because of the abnormally high level of mischief and demagoguery normally indulged in by both camps, this 2012 Election cycle promises to be an order of magnitude more Daliesque than any we have ever seen.

Not only are the usual players already piqued by the extraordinarily dire situation we face as a nation, but further exacerbating the predictable and, sadly, expected deviations from civility are the existence this time around of two players neither of the entrenched power elites (Democrats and Republicans) would prefer to have a voice in this discussion.

One such player is Sarah Louise Palin, recently the ex-officio “Kingmaker” from the 2010 Midterms. Whether she runs or not (and I firmly believe and sincerely pray she will), she is already having, and will continue to have an even greater effect on the outcome of this street fight merely by dint of the fact that she alone seems willing to speak plain, unvarnished truth to the despicable dissemblings of the Liberal Left, and to point out without apology the fact that their Emperor, while perhaps not naked, is most assuredly an unusually empty suit.

The other such player this time around is The Tea Party. Like Palin, we are among the unwashed uninvited, crashers of this party of insulting innuendo and Old Boy Kabuki with a brash cheekiness which speaks eloquently of our obvious lack of breeding. Also like Palin, while the cabal of DNC/RNC apologists would desperately like to pinch themselves awake to find that both she and we were merely a sheet-twisting nightmare, perhaps just a bit of ‘undigested potato,’ we’re here for the duration, and this Silly Season’s outcome is all the more unpredictable as a consequence.

To fully grasp all that makes the 2012 general election so monstrously different from any to have preceded it, we must add to all the above the fact that the current resident of the White House is a petulant, preening narcissist as well as a compulsive liar. He has absolutely no compunction about fabricating facts and statistics to support his radical anti-Americanisms, and is as ruthless in attacking his perceived foes as is the Chicago Thug Machine which bred him and foisted him on the American Public.

The attacks that are being cooked up to belittle, minimize, or destroy Palin and The Tea Party will be vile and horrific. This Liberal Extremist Mob were on the very brink of seeing the fruition of their dream of capsizing our nation. Their decades of assault on the American Dream, on capitalism, and on our moral societal fabric were within weeks of achieving the goal of “fundamentally re-forming America.” They are not happy with us.

So, it is prudent that we prepare ourselves for the battle to come. We must never be afraid to speak the truth. We must anticipate their next assault and have our defenses in place. One of the despicable ploys they will use in attacking The Tea Party is that we are racist. Let’s just address that one right here, and now.

America’s Tea Party Hurt By Racism

It is true that the crowds at Tea Party gatherings are predominantly white. There is no arguing against that fact. Sad to say, these groups are predominantly white primarily because of America’s deep-seated racist tendencies. This, too, is inarguable.

However, those tendencies belong not to the majority of folks attending the Tea Party rallies, nor is the problem one which can be legitimately ascribed to the Tea Party leadership, despite that the NAACP would prefer to thus define the discussion.

The reason why the Tea Party crowds are predominantly Caucasian is because the vast majority of America’s blacks still back a president who, by any measure, is arguably one of the biggest disappointments… even failures… in this diverse nation’s rich and multi-cultural history. It is also the case that the black community who continues to support this Oval Office disaster largely do so for one reason only:

The color of his skin.

And that, simpy put, is racist. The NAACP has proven itself to be a racist organization, which is very different from being a ‘racial’ organization. Any fair reading of the president’s national approval numbers shows very clearly that a plurality of Americans are deeply disappointed with Barack Obama’s performance in office. That nearly 90% of African-Americans still support his anti-constitutional, anti-free-market, anti-American agenda speaks to their own inability to view objectively and assess fairly President Obama’s performace based upon his performance alone.

Color blindness is a necessary prerequisite for the final ending of racism in America. We are being shown yet again that color-blindness is not a particularly strong suit for either America’s black community, or its credibility-shedding national mouthpiece, the NAACP. Neither does it seem to be a goal too high on the list of priorities for those whose futures are most certainly and most greatly affected by the presence or absence of the actually destructive influences of racism interwoven into the fabric of American society.

For the NAACP to blame white America for the fact that blacks still flock to Obama instead of to the Tea Party events is a willfull disregard for the fact that these color-based analyses are toothsome reviews of the symptoms of the problem, with a blind eye turned to the root cause. America’s black community is clearly racist by-and-large, and until they change, racism in America will continue to be a problem which plagues and holds back this otherwise great and compassionate land.

The next time the NAACP decides to air a cautionary message regarding the curse of racist fervor gripping the nation, they would do well to address it to those responsible for this scourge, instead of aiming it at the victims who would gladly welcome more of our black brothers at Tea Party events if only they could finally get past their own self-destructive prejudices.

Excellent warning salvo, fired straight across the bow of the NAACP and the "BSS Al Sharpton"

I’ve been to a few Tea Party meetings, and the fine folks there are so terrified about appearing “racist” that they are effectively paralyzed

Were these tea parties in San Fransisco or something? Tea party events in my town have had nothing at all to do with race.

That's what I like about this article. It places the blame for both "the appearance" of racism at Tea Party events, and "the fact" of the racism behind the mostly white Tea Party crowds, and lays the responsibility at the doorstep of the actual racists... the American Black Community which still backs Bukkaki O'Bunga simply because he's a negro.

If America is ever going to rid itself once and for all of the scourge of racism and its damaging effect on our Nation, it will be because America's blacks finally understand that whatever they may benefit from playing that vile card, the negative impact its play has on their lives and families is just not worth sustaining the charade.

Man up, pull that up-turned extended palm or raised clenched fist back and put those hands to work doing some good instead. That is the only path to the American Dream, regardless of race.

I just don’t see a better option than ignoring the screams of racism. After all, you really can’t fight something that doesn’t exist.

Sad to say, [Tea Party members] are predominantly white primarily because of America’s deep-seated racist tendencies. This, too, is inarguable.

He actually counters this statement later on, and points out that many Blacks vote Democrat simply because they have been told to do so. The perception is that Democrats help them but Republicans hurt them. Hmmm? If that's the case, why has the War on Poverty and similar programs passed during Democrat-control Congresses failed to change the relative position of Blacks in the economic spectrum? The reason is because Democrats need to make them dependent on them in order to maintain power. Contrary to the Democrat belief that encouraging private enterprise is a bad thing, Republicans know that a rising tide lifts all boats. Alas, the GOP doesn't know how to get this message across.

No mention of Herman Cain! I wonder what will happen to the accusations of racism defense if he becomes our nominee?

Its kinda funny really. The political figures that genuinely excite the GOP base the most are two women (Palin and Bachmann) and two black men (Cain and west).

The democrats on the other hand are stuck with one likely candidate who happens to be more or less black and a complete and utter proven failure. Their most likely potential challenger is Clinton and she doesn’t excite the democrat base much at all.

The accusations happen to be accurate, they are just aimed at the wrong people. It isn't the whites and blacks attending the Tea Party events who are racist, it's the blacks who are avoiding them who are the racists.

If by "He" you refer to the author, please point out where "he" does this. I don't see it anywhere in the article. Nowhere.

Please, show me.

Ignoring it won't stop it or make it go away. You have to remove the incentive for the money-grubbing opportunists who hope to cash in on this straw-man. You only do this by demonstrating unequivocally that this will be fought tooth-and-nail, and their lie effectively exposed.

All that evil needs to prevail is for good men to stand by and do nothing. Please don't advocate for doing nothing. If you don't want to fight it, fine. Stay home. But don't discourage those who would defend that which is worth fighting for.

So what if the tea parties are mostly white? Anything that happens to be “mostly white” is now considered evil. Just why is that? Maybe the ones calling the tea parties racist because they’re mostly white are the racists. Seems to me many of the tea partiers are so busy bending over backwards to prove they’re not racist that they’re not much good for anything else. I heard a black man say once, “The only danger I was in at the tea party was being hugged to death.” Well, of course! Tea partiers are so terrified of the “R” word, they’re thrilled to see any black enter one of their tea parties. They pounce upon him, lavish him with attention, and usually drag him to the bandstand so he can give a speech. They make sure he’s in the pictures so they can say, “See? We’re not racist!” This is why the “R” word has so much power and sting...because we let it! We grovel and cower at the very sound of it. When we stop doing that, it will lose its power and we can get on with doing what needs to be done.

Blacks will continue to vote for blacks so long as the "stimulus" checks keep flowing. obama has bought every vote he ever got - except of course the guilt ridden white liberals.

If skin color preference is the prime determining factor for voting, then the blacks come out far and way ahead in being the true "racists" in this country. It seems that "competence" ever occurs to them, only what they can get out of it.

It appears that most of the fabled "American GREED" rests on those who vote for personal benefit instead of for the good of the country. Blacks do that.

Then, when all the money has finally been doled out to them, they will riot because they can't put gas in their Escalades that the taxpayers bought them.

Ignorance and greed drives this movement...and I thought intengrating the schools back in the 60's was supposed to head off this sort of National ignorance.

Guess not.

The last Tea Party rally I went to mocked the racist tag. There was a speaker that started with something like I am a white racist man and the Tea Party would never accept a black person. The crowd cheered. I looked up and it was a short black woman speaking. She was mocking the notion that the Tea Party was racist.

I think it is high time we used some of Alinsky's tactics on the left. Here are his tactics modified for use by the right.

1. "Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have." This is what Palin is doing. She refuses to let the left take away her power. She acts like they don't exist or in some cases, toys.

2. "Never go outside the expertise of your people. When an action or tactic is outside the experience of the people, the result is confusion, fear and retreat.... [and] the collapse of communication.Follow Reagan's example of a handful of core topics. In this case it should be undoing Obama an dfixing our financial house.

3. "Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy. Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.) This should be easy. The left knows nothing about economics and free markets. When they give an answer, make them explain further and further until they are exposed as the posers they are.

4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity." In this case make the left live up to its views on things like racism. Point our the whiteness of their media networks like MSNBC, the devastation Obama's policies have had on black communities. The effects of abortion and welfare on black families. How the poverty pimps are harming rather than helping.

5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage." This is what is working on the Wiener fiasco. We should mock and laugh at Obama's policies as foolish and explain why. Obama really hates being mocked and it will lead to him losing it publicly.

6. "A good tactic is one your people enjoy." We are already doing this... Tea Parties!! We also have Palin toying with the left.

7. "A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag. Man can sustain militant interest in any issue for only a limited time...." We can't keep saying "tax cuts" without explaining how they will help the individual and the country. The term has been so over used that the common person fails to understand the true meaning.

8. "Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose." Palin seems to be a master at this lately. Trump did it too. I think the person that can pull this off the best will win the nomination.

9. "The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself." Trump did this with the BC. The debt limit is another. Find something that the left loves and protects and squeeze it until they give.

10. "The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign." More Tea Parties and protests for right causes. Also out show the left. Never back down unless you are giving the left room to stumble and fall down.

11. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside... every positive has its negative."I may be biased by I don't see many negatives on the right. I am not sure how to pull this one off.

12. "The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative."Unless we fill the vacuum of a failed marxist policy, they will create a worse one to fill the void. We cannot wait. We need to be prepared.

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. They have done that with Palin, Rush, Newt and others. It's our turn. Focus on one lefty after another. Take them down one by one. First Obama, then Frank, Pelosi,..... until they are dismantled. I would also try to break Soros's financial structure. Make him broke.

I am not sure if they will all work but some could. We need to send these commie democrats back to the rocks they crawled from under.
